Yeah, I can see why they want Man City out of the equation.
City didn’t match fix
City didn’t performance enhance
They bought the same tools as 4 other clubs to go head to head.
Only issue here is city out performed them all on a level playing field for over a decade.
Chin up
The fact that people don’t see why everyone wants City relegated is funny to me.
City came in and changed the league, making the Premier League feel like a place where anyone could dream of winning it.
We gave the smaller clubs a voice and stopped the Big 6 from going back to their old ways of dominating the league.
Now they want us gone so things can go back to the old ways. I think they really don’t want City here.
No bribed referees. No fixed matches. No paid officials. No manipulated results.
Just football, hard work and trophies earned on the pitch. You can debate everything else, but don't rewrite what happened on the field. 🩵🏆
Manchester City should be punished if they broke the rules, but the punishment should make sense🧏
If the offence was financial, punish them financially or with an appropriate sporting penalty. But stripping titles or relegating them should require proof that they cheated to win those games.
If there was no bribery, match-fixing or interference with referees, the trophies were still won on the pitch💯.
Something about this leak really doesn't sit right.
For years we've been told City's case is private, confidential and must be allowed to run its course. Then, before that course has actually finished, Ornstein shares the most explosive part of the outcome.
Cue the entirely predictable pile-on: relegation, titles stripped, expulsion. The media narrative is set, the public outcry follows, and the punishment is effectively being debated and demanded before we've even seen the judgment.
Perhaps that makes absolutely no difference to the people making the decisions. I hope it doesn't. But they're human beings. Is it really unreasonable to question whether that level of media and public pressure could consciously or subconsciously influence the people still tasked with determining the sanctions?
That's why the timing of the leak matters. It has created an external pressure around an unfinished process that simply wouldn't have existed had confidentiality been maintained.
If we're all (City included) are expected to have complete faith in the independence and integrity of this process, I think we're perfectly entitled to question that.
And if this ends up in another legal battle over whether the process was fair and impartial, I suspect this leak could become far more important than people currently realise.
Pochettino saying “no punishment can correct the damage” is exactly where I think this whole Man City conversation starts becoming emotional rather than reasonable.
Yes, if City are ultimately found to have broken financial rules, punish them accordingly. Nobody is saying financial regulations don't matter.
But there’s a difference between gaining a possible financial advantage off the pitch and pretending everything that happened ON the pitch was somehow fake.
Financial irregularities didn't make Aguero finish chances. They didn't make KDB pick passes. They didn't make Pep build one of the most tactically dominant teams we’ve seen. They didn't play 38 league games, win a Treble or execute those performances for them.
You can argue that having access to more money helped City build and maintain a stronger squad. Fair argument.
But reducing years of elite coaching, recruitment, player development and performances to “they cheated, therefore none of it counts” is intellectually lazy.
And there’s another part people are conveniently skipping: the full judgment hasn't even been made public. What we currently have are reports that the majority of the charges were proven, City maintain their position, and the process is moving towards an appeal.
So maybe let the entire process actually finish before rewriting 15 years of football history.
Punish proven financial breaches with the appropriate punishment.
But acting like financial accounting somehow kicked the ball into the net for Manchester City is where you lose me.
@visvam55@Bags_001@City_Chief@SamLee Saying the quiet stuff out loud, why should the club feel like they have to give them details about that and they and every City fan should feel absolutely bullish in their innocence.
