It was great to be back on the @DungenessBO patch over the last couple of weeks in February for #PWC2026. The highlights being picking up a couple of goodies in the form of Red-necked and Slavonian Grebe. Now on 71/85. Would be great to get more Observatories in the league!
If you can, then please do donate to help keep the only surviving Little Tern colony in the whole of Yorkshire protected. This is from threats like Foxes, Crows, Dogs and even people. Every little bit of money helps.

Help save the Beacon Ponds Little Tern project! The colony is in desperate need for funds to make sure that it is protected this coming breeding season. This colony is very close to me as I have spent many hundreds if not thousands of hours working day and night to protect it...
Interested in #UKBirding and #PatchBirding? Have you checked out the blog lately? Some exciting blog posts recently with the Best Find competition and the #PWC2025 wrap up!

in previous years. The colony has gone from strength to strength in recent seasons, so we must keep the protection going. They only need to gather 10k in funds to employ a warden to help do that. For more info and to donate, please follow this link: https://t.co/7jvWm4lcZr

Our team in the Michael Clegg bird race, 'The Humber Games' finished on 81sp after a day in the field were for three hours we couldn't see more than 50 yards ahead due to a blizzard dumping four inches of snow! Please donate to the cause, Yorkshire Swifts: https://t.co/eoCbvZmBeD
Tomorrow is likely to be the most gruelling Michael Clegg bird race that I will have ever done with minus temps, strong winds and potential for snow/rain! Starting on the Humber bank at Welwick at dawn and then ending at Spurn in the evening, with all ground covered by walking.
We have updated the list of birds requiring descriptions in Yorkshire as of 1st January 2026. Please take a look and remember to send in descriptions to county records or the YNURC secretary as soon as possible. Thank you and best of luck for 2026! https://t.co/6xybr3om4T
