I know we’re exhausted, disheartened, and rightly terrified. But we’ve been here before. We’ve fought, resisted, and built—together. Today, I’m reflecting on where we go from here and how we keep moving forward.
My prestigious Alma Maters, Fisk, and
Howard were targets of the racists text messages post-election. Threats and scare tactics have always been used in this country to instill fear in Black people. Our communities must be safe havens. Government must be held accountable!
Opinion: Janine Lee was a champion of equitable grant making in the South. A consummate philanthropic leader, she leaves behind a legacy of healing divisions and facilitating difficult conversations in a deeply complex region, writes @SBatten of @ABFE.

Proud to join @SBatten in critiquing a grantmaking strategy "that provides funding at a mercurial and slow-drip pace. Funding organizations in this way does not support them if we want them to win." We're committed to meeting the challenge of the moment and invite you to join us.
My Black history month aims to bring philanhropy's attention to the US territories. First, the US Virgin Islands, America's sole Black colony (their words, not mine). Funders don't support this region, and it's up to us! @ABFE
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear friend, Hugh Burroughs.

When a philanthropy turns your Black-led leadership organization down to manage their investments in Black leadership, hire two white-led organizations to run it, and then the white-led organization asks you to be an advisor for 2k. This work never ends! ✊🏽
