A man has just been jailed for 27 years for the attempted murder of a BTP Special Constable.

He followed the officer to Preston station, before pulling out his concealed knife, and running to violently stab him in the neck.

Happy new year to all my followers, it’s been a good year as a volunteer Police Officer for me, been promoted to Inspector and managed to pass my Standard Driving Course. Hopefully plenty more to come next year.

Today marks 12 years since our colleagues, PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes, were tragically killed on duty.

An annual memorial will take place today within the memorial garden at Hyde Police Station. Their courage continues to inspire us every day.

The driver of this stolen Volvo led our #TPAC patrols on a 20 minute pursuit around #Tameside earlier - this is the moment the vehicle was stung & a few seconds later it stopped with 4 flat tyres. Driver & passenger are now on their way into custody & will be questioned later.

Burglar on stolen motorbike spotted by our officers. Thought we wouldn't chase him because of no helmet. Wrong! Tact contact used to secure the bike and disrupt his crime spree! When proportionate, we ALWAYS pursue! Good facial images captured & work ongoing to identify perp 👍

Was good to utilise my new skill last as a Standard Driver😬thrown in at the deep end however with a 26 mile response run🚨

Last Night @GMPSpecials utilised two of their Standard Drivers (and additional officers) to assist Spec Ops teams with prisoner transport. Multiple prisoners taken to custody for a number of offences including TOMV, Shoplifting, Drink Drive and Drug Drive.

After three very difficult and stressful but very enjoyable weeks, I have passed my Standard Driving Response Course.

So happy, never thought I would have this opportunity as a Special Constable 🚓
