What a job Graham Coughlan is doing at Waterford in the League of Ireland. Waterford were rock bottom when he took over, without a single win in 14 games, but since his arrival in May he has guided them to 9 wins in 16 games in all competitions to lift them out of the bottom two.

A few years ago Ronald Araujo was on track to be one of the best centre backs of his generation…

Those days feel like a long time ago now, as he’s suffered with injury, loss of form and confidence.

If Liverpool wanted a centre-back, I can’t help feeling that they could have entered the race for Lacroix, Van Hecke but particularly Senesi on a free.

However it feels like their focus has been fully trained on landing that star attacker.

Araujo to Liverpool, even on loan, feels incredibly rushed, last-minute and random.

Hopefully for his and their sake, a change of environment does him good!
