This weekend I was able to tour @stambrose and also camp with @SAUBeesSoftball. Big thanks to Coach Kelly for everything. Also my 1st time wearing purple and representing @EliteNat18u
Lots of work being done out at the Stone City fields! 🥎💙
Excited to see it all coming together for our athletes and families this season! 👏Sportsfields Inc, thank you for doing such a great job!
🚨 BIG SHOWCASE TOURNAMENTS AREN’T JUST ABOUT PLAYING WELL 🚨
The athletes who stand out the most before big showcase events are usually the ones who PREPARE the best.
That preparation starts with communication.
Here’s a simple timeline athletes should follow before a showcase tournament 👇
📅 2-3 WEEKS BEFORE: ✅ Send your initial email to coaches Include: • Name / Grad Year / Position • GPA + key metrics • Travel team name • Tournament schedule • Jersey number • Highlight video • Why you’re interested in their program
This gives coaches time to plan where they want to watch.
📅 5-7 DAYS BEFORE: ✅ Send a short follow-up email Coaches get hundreds of emails. A follow-up helps put your name back in front of them.
Include: • Updated schedule if needed • Any recent accomplishments • A quick reminder of where they can watch you
📅 NIGHT BEFORE OR MORNING OF: ✅ Send a quick game-day reminder Keep this VERY short.
Example: “Coach Smith, Excited to compete this weekend. Our first game is at 10:30 AM on Field 4. Looking forward to hopefully seeing you there!”
📅 AFTER THE TOURNAMENT: ✅ Follow up again Thank coaches for their time. Share any updates, lessons learned, or upcoming schedule information.
Remember:
College coaches recruit athletes who communicate consistently and professionally — not just athletes who perform well for one weekend.
Preparation matters. Communication matters. Details matter.
The athletes who treat recruiting like part of their sport usually separate themselves over time.
You can only perform to the level and extent of which you have prepared. If you do not properly prepare, you cannot properly perform.
Preparation and hardships are the foundation for performing when it matters. If you go through the tough stuff before it happens, you will be experienced and ready for when it truly matters. Rise to the standard everyday. In every task you do, prepare and compete intentionally. When you do that, you will have the opportunity to perform when it’s all on the line.
Compete every day. Go be great!
Spring football has been so fun this year 🏈 Got the chance to play at Soldier Field with my teammates and we finished as runner-ups at our first tournament at Benedictine University! Ended the tournament with 8 TDs and I’m loving every second of this game 🧡@5CoachRich5@LewisFlagFB@MinookaSports@BenU1887
Today is the day. Come out to the @minookasoftball varsity field at 4:30 for our game vs Bolingbrook. Bring a new @LEGO_Group set and get a free shirt. This is my way of giving back to the children’s hospital that has been there for me.

Congratulations to Minooka Head Varsity Softball Coach Mark Brown
Not only a 4th & 1st in state but today won his 300th game as varsity head coach
He put Minooka Softball on the map
I’d like to thank him for everything he’s done for me the players and the Minooka Softball program
So proud of my team for battling hard yesterday! Huge comeback with big hits and great at-bats all around. I went 2-2 with a single and a double, to put us ahead for good. Can’t wait to get back out there today!
