Unprecedented Increase in Youth Cancer Cases - U.S. Scientists Link to Accelerated Aging Process.
A recent global survey led by Jianhui Zhao from China's Zhejiang University has found that the number of cancer cases in people under 50 has increased globally by 79% in the last 30 years. The age group of 40 to 49 years is the most affected. Cancer-related deaths have also increased by 27.7% since 1990, resulting in over one million deaths worldwide in 2019 alone.
The most common types of early-onset cancers identified were breast cancer, bronchial and lung cancer, and colorectal cancer, which also accounted for most deaths among people under 50. Nasopharyngeal cancer and prostate cancer have seen the fastest increase, with a prevalence increase of about 2.3% each since 1990.
The study has found a connection between the accelerated biological aging process and the increasing incidence of cancer in people under 50. A study conducted by Yin Cao and her team analyzed nearly 150,000 people aged between 37 and 54 from the "UK Biobank" data registry. The study focused on nine blood-based markers linked to biological age to determine the biological age of individuals and their risk of developing cancer. The researchers found that people born after 1965 had a 17% higher probability of accelerated aging than those born between 1950 and 1954. They also discovered that accelerated aging was associated with an increased cancer risk, particularly with lung cancer, stomach and colorectal cancer, and uterine cancer. Individuals with the most accelerated aging had twice the risk of early-stage lung cancer, more than a 60% higher risk of gastrointestinal tumor, and more than an 80% higher risk of uterine cancer compared to those with the least accelerated aging.
These findings could help identify risk groups and qualify them for earlier cancer screenings. By identifying people at higher risk due to their cells aging faster, it may be possible to intervene in their lifestyle, including diet, exercise, and sleep, to reduce their cancer risk. Additionally, there may be medical interventions that could target accelerated aging and reduce the risk of cancer.
Scientists found a way to increase phone battery life by 50%.
Researchers from the University of California San Diego have suggested that building more, smaller 5G towers could improve battery life by approximately 50% for people living in urban areas. The study, titled “Densify & Conquer,” proposes that urban areas should move from using large-power base stations to small-cell networks. By using a system of smaller towers, each with a weaker signal and consuming less energy than a big one, the network would offer greater net coverage for the area.
The researchers suggest that this kind of small-cell network could not have been possible with 4G networks, as 5G networks are capable of switching from tower to tower relatively seamlessly. This denser network would avoid large wireless signal losses due to high range and lead to 50% improved battery life for connected smartphones on the dense network, as they would be located closer and at a smaller height to the network.
The simulations found that there would need to be five times more cell towers to achieve the proposed benefits, but each tower only needs to be 15 meters tall, meaning they could be mounted atop street lights or buildings. The study offers a practical, cost-effective solution for network providers while improving coverage for urban areas and reducing their carbon footprint.

My message to British Christians - your religion is dead
If, like me, you are religious but are sick of following a compromised faith then time to join the winning side - ISLAM, the one true faith.

Here's a forecast for the solar eclipse and the best places to view totality in Canada..
A total solar eclipse is occurring today and is expected to pass through parts of Canada. This will provide people in its path with a stunning view of this astronomical phenomenon. However, the experience may be hindered by cloud coverage in certain popular viewing areas, while regions in Quebec and Atlantic Canada are likely to have clear skies for the event. It's important to note that weather forecasts are subject to change, so meteorologists recommend that eclipse chasers check local conditions before the big moment. Here is an overview of how the cloud cover is shaping up for the day along the solar eclipse's path of totality.
Ontario
According to Sean Akiyama, a meteorologist with Environment Canada, Ontario may not have clear skies for the upcoming total solar eclipse. However, he mentioned that certain areas might have a better chance of a clear view than others. Akiyama stated that the best views are anticipated to be at the "extreme ends" of the path of the eclipse across Ontario, specifically the province's most southwestern and eastern edges.
The forecast for southwestern Ontario, including Point Pelee National Park, predicts a mixture of sun and cloud. However, as we move towards the Hamilton-Niagara region and Toronto, the conditions worsen. Akiyama explains that a thick layer of cloud is expected to cover the area, and while a break in the cloud cover is possible, it would be challenging to find a clear view.
As for the forecast east of Toronto, along the northern shores of Lake Ontario, it does not look promising either. Akiyama stated that the forecast shows mainly cloudy skies for those areas and into Kingston. He suggests that East of Brockville might be the best option for a clear view.
Quebec.
According to Environment Canada meteorologist Dominic Martel, people who are planning to watch the eclipse in Quebec are likely to have a better view than those in the western regions. Martel stated that clear sky conditions are expected to prevail throughout the path of the total eclipse and even during the partial eclipse on the periphery of the path. He expressed his confidence in the forecast, as recent modelling consistently predicted a high-pressure ridge over the province. However, there is a slight uncertainty about the speed of the clouds moving in from Ontario into southern Quebec. Martel stated that the forecast shows cloud cover arriving in Montreal around 6 p.m. Although the city is expected to experience totality just before 3:30 p.m., it will be out of the eclipse's path entirely by around 4:30 p.m..
Newfoundland and Labrador
There is a low-pressure system looming over Newfoundland and Labrador that could obstruct the view for some people who plan to watch the eclipse on the island, according to Martel. The best places to watch the eclipse are expected to be on the southern shores and in the middle of the island. However, Martel said that the western shores around Stephenville and the eastern areas around Clarenville are likely to experience cloudy conditions. Gander is "really on the edge of the clouds," he said, adding that people in this area might get lucky.
New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Cape Breton, N.S.
Martel has stated that the total solar eclipse is expected to pass through mostly clear skies in New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, the tip of Cape Breton and into the Quebec archipelago of the Iles-de-la-Madeleine. Although earlier in the week, the same low-pressure system hanging over Newfoundland had generated some uncertainty for the Maritimes' forecast, it is expected to move far enough off the coast in time for Monday. Martel also mentioned that there may be some convective clouds forming in the northern parts of P.E.I. and New Brunswick, but they are the types of quicker-moving clouds with lots of holes, which should not cause any significant obstruction. According to him, it should only be momentary, and he does not think it should be a dealbreaker for anyone in that region.
