Save Chiltern Open Air Museum is dedicated to ensuring that the Museum's landlords hand over the freehold of the site as per their legal requirement to do so.
COAM have now agreed the terms of the transfer of the site freehold and expect this to be completed very soon. The land will be transferred to the museum for £1 by developers, Comer Homes, as part of its S106 agreement with Buckinghamshire Council.

It's our opinion that partying with the developers did not actually help resolve this issue in favour of the museum.
Shameful.
@Hamptons1869 Any news on the transfer of the freehold to their neighbour and local history charity, the Chiltern Open Air Museum yet?
It is a condition of planning so really does need to be sorted prior to the sucessful marketing of these properties.
@LondonTVUK The development is also threatening the livelihood of the neighbouring Chiltern Open Air Museum. The Local History charity was granted the freehold of their site as a condition of development in 2016. The developers are still delaying the transfer of the freehold
Ever wondered about the history of your childhood hometown? In tonight’s first episode of @channel5_tv series #NoPlaceLikeHome, @Fern_Britton returns to Buckinghamshire and discovers more about Newland Park, once owned by barrister and suffrage-supporter Henry Devenish Harben.
Newland Park was featured on Channel 5's 'No Place Like Home' featuring Fern Britton last week. The glorious country estate is available through Hamptons.
You can watch the episode here, and Fern takes a tour of Newland Park 24 minutes in:

@JessinRuislip@findmypast@channel5_tv@Fern_Britton Its the neighbouring development.
Sadly the developers of Newland Park have failed to hand the freehold of the museum to COAM which was a condition of developing the site back in 2016.
We are a pressure group trying to endure that the freehold is handed over by the developers.
Despite the optimism prior to Christmas the freehold has not been transferred.
Please continue to keep this issue at the forefront of Bucks Councillors' minds and continue to comment on the marketing for the development.
Onwards!
@KDicksonCSP @dianemholden @ACHockeyClub Yes which is odd as Tony the Parish Council Chairman in his official opening speech was waxing lyrical about how Comer had worked with the open air museum to give them the freehold and secure it as a vital tourism treasure of Bucks. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
Only taken @comerhomesgroup 6 years of hand wringing to not pay £1 to complete planning permission for their new houses at Newland Park. Who wants to buy a house knowing there is a potential planning refusal over the developers refusal to complete the planning conditions ?
I do like the continued reference to royalty for the Newland Park development - I mean yes but not sure they should be advertising Lord Fleetwood’s role in signing Charles I’s death sentence - regicide is so not a good look 👀 P.S. any sign of the freehold passing to the museum?
