Our latest work with @drk_chem lab and Asuri lab @SCUEngineering explores the impact of glycation on protein interactions, reactivity, & toxicity of silver nanoparticles.
Eric Tillman and 5 undergrad coauthors published in Macromolecular Chemistry & Physics. The paper entitled "Nickel-Catalyzed Reductive Homodimerization of Brominated Polystyrene Chains" details a new catalytic cycle capable of transforming polymers into new shapes and sizes! 1/3
The undergrad coauthors investigated the new compounds and contributed to the publication. They include Ella Basler '23 (Biochemistry), Chloe Heath '23 (Biochemistry), Jaden Chong '23 (Neuroscience), Katie Ching '24 (Bioengineering), and Shelby Jennett '24 (Neuroscience). 2/3
ICYMI: Korin Wheeler received the @SCUfacdev Louis and Dorina Brutocao Award for Teaching Excellence. Known for her high standards and dedication to student growth, students who nominated Korin wrote of her inspirational, empathetic approach to teaching & as a lab mentor!
Curious about joining a research lab? Excited about learning some new, experimental chemistry? Ever wondered what your professors do when they aren't teaching? Come find out Today at 4 pm on the 3rd floor terrace of SCDI. All our welcome regardless of major!
A reminder to current @SCU_ChemBiochem students that our first Chem 115 research seminar is today at 4 pm in SCDI 1302. Looking forward to hearing from Dr. Morgan Hawker about surface science / silk research at Fresno State! 4 disability accommodations, contact @BenStokesLabSCU
Collaborators Kelsey Voss and Jeffrey Rathmell, from Vanderbilt University Medical Center, provided expertise and guidance in immunology and immunometabolism. Congrats to the whole team! #SCUProud
