The 130 refugees include 34 families ranging from 2 to 11 members. More than half of the refugees are children, while almost equal parts men and women make up the rest of the refugee numbers, according to officials.

Over 130 Afghan refugees were recently placed in Santa Clarita. They have just three months in state-funded temporary housing to find work, schooling and homes– and are asking the public for assistance.
