Year 5 have had a visit from local councillor Sarah Cockburn-Price telling them about how her career changed multiple times as ‘doors shut in her face’ & she chanced new opportunities before starting up local community group ‘Colne Youth Action Group.’

Many thanks to @PendleBC officers who invited me to scrutinise the woodland fringing the former ELE site at Cottontree.
There was concern about trees being coppiced along the public footpath. None of the trees was on PBC land. I was reassured that the trees would regenerate. 🌳
If our country took a fancy to, say Virginia, would President Trump simply gift it to the UK to prevent us bombing New York? Is that is what he is saying? Can’t he see it makes no sense? Where would it end?
Well, Winterbloom 25 by @Colne_BID was a resounding success! Many congrats to all who took part, @knitboy for having the original idea, @MrsMcG for organising, @handmadeparade for staging & @ace_national for funding. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The 2km water main replacement on Castle Road, Hill Lane and Skipton Old Road info session took place @ColneCricket Club given by @unitedutilities. If you want further details do get in touch or see my detailed post on Facebook or Instagram. Work starts on 3rd Feb.
I love my animals. I adore snow and real winter.
I am less keen on both when their frozen poo is welded to the ground and, as I chip at it to get it up, it repeatedly flies up and hits me in the face. 🦙🙄
Members of @LidgetandBeyond pitched up this morning to plant 2,000 spring bulbs: snowdrops, muscari, snakeshead fritillaries, crocii and narcissi. The team laboured for a scant hour across the area. Many thanks to the workers and @PendleBC who supported this project.🌷🌷🌷
Loving the Chains n’ HiVis look that was being rocked by Trawden Parish Council Chairman & Parish Clerk, Adele Waddington, at tonight’s Trawden Light Switch on! The occasion was great fun.
Kudos to all the volunteer parish councillors who worked to make this a memorable evening.
@SCockburnPrice@knitboy@PendleBC What an incredibly dispiriting room to make any decisions in, let alone ones about the built environment. Everything about it - carpet, furniture, lighting, layout - screams a philistine lack of concern with what things look like.
My colleague, @knitboy, & I ventured into the Lions’ Den (otherwise known as The Exec) @PendleBC to speak for the retention of Trafalgar House. The LibDems fought for total demolition, but the Indies held sway, so the front portion will be retained and the rest sadly, flattened.
@knitboy@PendleBC It’s a hackneyed phrase, but with that level of quite obvious lies, one wonders how they sleep at night? Essentially, they knew they were lying. They knew we knew they were lying. And they seemed not to care!
A Climate FRESK was hosted by The Muni for all Cllrs & Pendle’s business reps. The session was hosted by @InSitu_1 & the main takeaway was how interconnected even seemingly unrelated processes are & how the negative impacts are accelerating as a direct result of human activities.
