I really didn’t want to tweet today, but after seeing the Somnia founder’s post, I have to say this.
Season 5 allocations are honestly nothing special when most top wallets are already deep in loss from NFTs that are now basically worthless.
Now claims are tied to DreamDEX gaining traction first? So if DreamDEX struggles for weeks, the community just waits?
That makes no sense to me.
After everything the community has already lost, why would people want to risk more money interacting with another product tied to the ecosystem?
I’m trying hard not to completely lose faith here, but the way this has been handled keeps making it harder.
The network is more reliable than it's ever been as our success rates and core performance metrics have increased across the board.
This is a result of improvements to our detection and filtering capabilities that remove bots, bad actors, and low quality nodes from the network. Our efforts to prevent bad actors from gaming the system have led to stronger and more sustainable network performance.
Our goal has always been simple: reward real users who support the network with bandwidth that the network can actually use.
Real rewards for real users.
SOMNIA S5: FROM +EV TO -63%
Ok, @Somnia_Network S5 airdrop registration is open and everyone can check their allocation.
I’ll keep it short: Very disappointed.
@0xPaulThomas, you didn’t keep your promise to guarantee +EV for the users who trusted you and completed your quests.
I’ll only talk about the Founder Pack minting quest, because the other capital-heavy quests will have much bigger variances.
- We spent 75 $SOMI to get 600 points. With the 300% boost from gSomnia, that’s 75 SOMI for 2,400 points.
- The community-recorded points-to-SOMI ratio is around 55. So 2,400 ÷ 55 ~ 43 SOMI.
Yes, we put in 75 SOMI and got back 43 SOMI.
- In SOMI terms, that’s a -42% loss.
- In USDC terms, when SOMI was ~$0.3 at the time and is now ~$0.19, it’s a -63% loss on capital.
And it’s vested for 8 weeks.
“But those points don’t include the NFT boost, right?”
Oh please, don’t even mention the NFTs or I’ll turn this post into a full article.
A lot of people who trusted you deeply even bought NFTs back when SOMI was $1–1.5.
No need to say much more: we're in double loss.
Top investors like @1_gariphamsi , @dreweth , @DuraLabs, @LeoXBT67 already said their words.
Who came out the biggest winner? There are two groups:
- Who exploited the loophole to mint for free and sell Odyssey keys.
- Who sold all their NFTs before the snapshot.
They made way more profit and didn’t even get vested.
Unless the team has some big plan behind this (like making SOMI to a new ATH again), it’s impossible for the community to continue this story here.
There’s no guarantee that our time and money contributions will be properly rewarded in the next season.
Peace.
At this point, the only real winners of S5 are the useless NFT collections you pushed the community to mint.
After 8 months of grind, we got only 1% allo, making people break even on what they spent on NFTs or worse.
Is S5 still alpha?

Over 1.2M quest points, 30k sYaps, SOYD25, Guardian, Gamer of Somnia role holder
Spent over 20k $SOMI on the NFT boosts, basically a refund at this point
It is what it is, only 1% supply for this season :(
Honestly, I don’t really understand the hype around prediction markets in Web3. 🔮
Do we seriously have no other directions left to build? 🤔
Web3 was supposed to be about freedom, ownership, new forms of community, decentralized finance, gaming economies, useful NFTs, censorship-resistant social platforms, and new monetization models for creators. 🌐🧩
And instead, we keep coming back to:
“Guess the price.” 📈
“Bet on an event.” 🎲
“Who wins?” 🏆
“What happens next?” 🔮
My question is simple: who actually needs this, and why? 😅
Yes, it might be fun for some people. Yes, it can be speculation dressed up with better UX. But is this really the direction that should push Web3 forward? 🚀
Are we building a new digital economy, or just another casino with a nicer interface and the words “on-chain transparency” slapped on top? 🎰⛓️
I think Web3 needs products people can actually use every day. Real tools. Better identity. Payments. Storage. Gaming. Creator economy. Social apps. DePIN. Better UX. More security. Real adoption. 🛠️🌍
Prediction markets can exist, sure. ✅
But when people present them as “the next big thing,” I only have one question:
Is this really what we built all of this for? 👀
Or is Web3 capable of something bigger? 🌌

I’ve had enough of this modern chaos.
I’m moving back to the 80s and 90s.
Back to cassette tapes, old-school discos, football stickers, corner shops, VHS nights and summers that felt endless.
Who’s coming with me? 📼🕹️⚡🚗

Hot take real quick
Season 5 in @Somnia_Network is over. Congrats to everyone who was part of the journey
Funny how a lot of people instantly rushed to sell their NFTs. “Not needed next season”… right? Or maybe not?
The whole system is changing anyway. We’re not getting the usual quests later...
And the funniest part - no one ever said NFTs won’t be needed. There are plenty of scenarios where they could still be used. Games are still staying in @SomniaEco
And if there’s any extra reward for Quills, chances are (like 99%) you’ll need to have those NFTs in your wallet at the moment of claiming (shoutout to those who sold at 50 somi)
NFA, DYOR, same as always
I’m heading to sleep, it’s pretty late for me. And for you - think for yourself, do your own research, don’t just follow the crowd.
P.S. Guess we finally got to see the real value of NFTs without boosts, right?
