@CountrysideBen@HelenRambler Entrepreneurial spirits in small villages. In bygone times, an enterprising farmer would have opened a field gate & charged for parking. ๐
Another day, another large fire started on Yorkshire's peatland hills to engineer breeding habitat for grouse โ this time in the @PeakDistrict.๐ฅ
Will you be adopting @theCCCuk's recommendation that grouse moor burning is banned within the year, @ZacGoldsmith?
PALOUSE, WASHINGTON STATE
It is quite possibly no secret that I hugely enjoy unraveling the construction of an image. The eye of its audience can often make a favourable or an unfavourable response in as short a time as a second.
Weather almost perfect during our Crianlarich trip, so many a Munro/Cobett were ticked off or just enjoyed. Brilliant company (including 4 members from Manchester), food and accommodation (OMC's Inverardran Cottage), as usual.
@GeorgeMWME Agreed! Lying in a park now, above the water rather than having it flow over her. A river goddess like a fish out of water, that's telling.
Of course biodiversity loss and the global degradation of #naturalcapital more broadly should have been in the top 5 every year since the report was produced. But better late than never ๐๐๐ณ๐ #Davos2020
The lowtide crossing to #Erraid
'A sea-bred boy would not have stayed a day on Earraid; which is only what they call a tidal islet'
- but David Balfour of #Kidnapped thought he was marooned so 'I might have left my bones there, in pure folly'
Dear politicians,
You all voted to declare a climate *and biodiversity* emergency in May of last year. ๐๐
We now need to see what you intend doing about it. The solutions are all there, we want to see commitments in your manifestos. #GeneralElection#GE20
@nongravity Nice that environment is high up but climate is absent. Ireland has some momentum now, after years of inaction, so it would be good to feed it back to the pols ACROSS parties!
Keep it topical. Before polls, there's sure to be flooding, on top of Storm Brendan.
