@McMistle Okay…the archie reboot and fleetway also use the games as their backbone, and I’m sure we’d agree archie sonic and fleetway sonic are not the same as game sonic. Same logic applies.
@whisperwoIf Why isn't the actual people in charage of Sonic - Kishimoto and Iizuka - stating it as such? Why does it have to be people far below them who came from outside the games to 'confirm' it?
@whisperwoIf 'It's canon as long as it doesn't contradict anything' - Ian Flynn, telling people to ignore the truth of IDW Sonic not being canon to the Games.
-everyone by the cheer force of his character. That's why I think BK has got the best Sonic. Wether its the knights of the round table or Merlina, he was able to turn them around and make em rethink their morals just by being who he is, not through speeches
I think the main problem with IDW Sonic is that while at his core has the same philosophy as game Sonic, the fact that he has to go through long ass expositions to explain his reasons and mentality takes away from the fact that Sonic was just a force that changes everything-
This clip of Ian unironically whining and complaining about having to write Shadow being in character will never not be both the funniest thing I've seen and the best example of why I sincerely believe he should not be writing these characters because he doesn't get them.
@StarStormReload People who insist that IDW Sonic is the same character gotta be reading an entirely different book because the relationship between Sonic and his enemies does a complete 180, like trying to get Metal Sonic and Eggman to see the error in their ways is not game Sonic's style
@StarStormReload Like if we're to believe game Sonic and IDW Sonic are the same character then moments like this make it evident he's either extremely inconsistent or he doesn't believe any of the garbage he's waffling about in IDW (which is also inconsistent)
@Biddybud5@StarStormReload There are definitely a variety of Sonics, but I think most of that variety comes from the American writers and cartoonists due to wildly different standards and continuities. Generally speaking though game Sonic has been very consistent
@Biddybud5@StarStormReload This but, like, actually unironically lol. Sonic and Eggman hating each other and Sonic knowing Eggman is an evil schmuck is something even the meta-era writers were able to get right. That is an actual consistent throughline for the character.
@DantTheAnt Can you specify where he's 'inconsistant' in the games, first and foremost? Because as far as I can tell, he's been 100 per cent consistant throughout all the games.
@ThePinkGalaxy55 Maybe you should join them instead and show them you agree on their points? Like, I feel the more people are showing to disagree, the more things can change.
