20| Enjoyer of SEGA games, Sonic in particular, and hope to explore more of their franchises. Plenty more things I enjoy too.
IF is best Neptunia character btw
@NerdCraveYT Ehhhhhh no I think it's good to have more jobs for an ever growing industry.
Also usage of AI is cutting a lot of corners, resulting in lesser products so I don't think if good at all, actually.
I find it interesting that many people see AI in games as okay as long as its used for concept work and doesn't make it into the final game.
I just want to remind these people that in game development, there are people who's entire role is to develop concept art/assets.
@StillBRS I see many people ignore important roles or aspects of many creative industries, and being apart of the gaming one myself I hope to inform wherever I can such as here.
I just wish concept work was more recognised.
@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ No but I believe in giving people constructive feedback to help other creatives improve and collaborate with them better.
Its also a chance for yourself to grow. It's nice to see others improve and grow alongside them
@Meowdyjac It really is fantastic! I really love creator interviews and seeing footage of early conceptualisation stages where you can see a bunch of sticky notes with scrappy little scribbles on them when they were working stuff out.
You can tell creators have a bunch of fun when allowed
My favorite part of looking at art books of my favorite media IS ALL THE HAND MADE IDEAS. THE NAPKINS, THE STICKY NOTES, THE NOTE PAPERS EVERYTHING!!!! It's amazing to see how everything came together and Generative AI is ruining this joy.
@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ No, but I do enjoy reading many of Tolkein's stories, as many do.
He's renound for taking great care in even the smallest aspects of the world and stories he built, and look at how successful, memorable and loved the world of Middle earth is.
I think I've made my point.
@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ I'd bet your work is lesser than many current novelists not using AI, and afar beneath one's who have come before, writing before this technology was available to be quite blunt.
@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ Many writers enjoy fleshing out their work and it's the many small things that build up and make the work far more interesting.
Really enjoying the creation of a work, you would want to take care of a project, rather than letting AI change and alter things to lesser quality
@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ I really pity you. It's sad you settle for less.
It's also sad you can't see any of the joy involved in creative project because you get a machine to do it for you.
This is a multi billion dollar company also. They can afford to pay artists.
@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ Prioritising speed over quality leads to lower quality products which is what should actually matter.
Anything you love and hold to a high standard would not be at such a standard if not for the people who conceptualised said thing. They deserve credit.
@FATCHICKSLUVIT_ Well the issue is, they are using AI for a lesser result. AI can't compare the the conceptualisation and realisation of a human artist
@SEGAForgotess Thereโs no Star Wars without Ralph McQuarrie (or Doug Chiang or any of the host of great talents they have in the concept art department).
@sir_prise_party Yes! It's a bit sad to see people ignoring these people in industry, especially when I'm friends with a few.
These people do a lot of hard work and it's a shame to see their work undermined
