As @SenatorShaheen and @SFRCdems lay out in our new report, the Trump Admin's cuts to our diplomatic infrastructure have undermined America's ability to compete with China.
Congress must act quickly to reverse the damage and preserve America's ability to lead and compete.
Today, @SenatorShaheen, @SenatorDurbin and @RepMikeTurner travelled to Hungary to meet with Hungarian officials including Deputy Prime Minister @_OrbanAnita and civil society groups.

Ukraine is the most innovative military in Europe at the moment. They aren't just a user of U.S. weapons, but a key provider of support, as we've seen during the war in Iran.
It's in our national security interest to learn from their technological advancement on the battlefield.
This is a war that President Trump never should’ve undertaken. None of the goals that he set out in the beginning have been accomplished.
He needs to get back to the negotiating table, but he needs to negotiate a deal that’s going to benefit the United States and not Iran.
NEW: @SenatorShaheen gives a recap of the #2026NATOSummit with a focus on:
1️⃣ Bipartisan Congressional support for NATO
2️⃣ Backing Ukraine
3️⃣ Demonstrating the importance of NATO to the American people
“I’m glad to see @StateDept announce its plans to remove Syria’s SST designation, as I called for last week. Now, the Senate must also pass my bipartisan legislation to repeal additional sanctions on Syria.” -@SenatorShaheen

BREAKING: President Trump throws support behind drone deal with Ukraine: “I think we’re going to make that deal.”
@SenatorShaheen’s reaction: “It’s high time the United States seal this deal. @DeptofWar and @USWPColby should follow @POTUS’s lead.”
“It was an honor to once again speak with President @ZelenskyyUa during the @NATO Summit. I reaffirmed the Senate’s strong bipartisan support for Ukraine and stressed the need for sustained pressure on Putin to secure a just and lasting peace.” -@SenatorShaheen
I met with a bipartisan delegation from both houses of the United States Congress Senators – @SenatorShaheen, @LindseyGrahamSC, @SenatorDurbin, @ChrisCoons, @SenatorRounds, @RepMikeTurner – and thanked them for their support and focus on Ukraine. We had an in-depth discussion about the prospects for diplomacy and what is required for it to succeed. I informed them about the Patriot interceptor shortage and Russian attacks on our people. Right now, contributions to PURL and other air defense deliveries are the top priority for defense.
We also discussed the Russia sanctions bill. It is critical to continue increasing pressure on Russia for this war, and this initiative can truly help to advance peace. I thanked Senators and Members of Congress for their words of respect for our warriors and operations, as well as their assurances that assistance will continue. I am grateful to the United States and every caring American heart for their support.
Today, @SenatorShaheen who is leading a bipartisan, bicameral Congressional delegation to the 2026 #NATOSummit, again spoke with @SecGenNATO Mark Rutte.

“Another round of deadly Russian strikes on Kyiv last night should be a warning for next week’s #NATOSummit: the time to act is now. The United States and our allies must choke off Putin’s war machine with sanctions and provide further aid for Ukraine’s defense.” -@SenatorShaheen
