Today is National Day of the Deployed. To our brave men and women who are serving far from home, we honor and thank you for your service and sacrifice in the name of freedom. 🇺🇸
Wright-Patt has a $16.68B impact on the region. This means new, high-paying jobs, economic growth and development, improved infrastructure, and more opportunities.
This impact means a stronger Miami Valley and a stronger America.
I recently spoke to the @daytonregion and the @DaytonChamber at their Regional Economic Development Forum. Throughout my time in public service, economic development has been a major focus of mine.
Since @JobsOhio was founded in 2011, our community has created 50,000 jobs. Manufacturing, healthcare, higher education, technology, defense and all of the small businesses in between play a significant role in our region's economy and the quality of life of our neighbors. We’ve made major strides for our region's growth and stability. And we're just getting started.
Southwest Ohio is home to over 60,000 veterans, representing a sizable portion of our community's population. Our men and women in uniform sacrifice a great deal to serve our country and we owe them and their families a great deal of respect. That is why I have authored and cosponsored numerous pieces of legislation to support veterans and their families.

I recently toured Battle Sight Technologies, a provider of innovative front-line technologies for our warfighters, law enforcement and first responders. Located right here in Dayton, Battle Sight Technologies keeps our spirit of innovation alive while providing for our national defense.
National security starts on the factory floor. When we make critical materials at home like steel, munitions and parts, we reduce our dependence on foreign supply chains in a crisis. The plants that make these vital components for our defense also provide stable job opportunities for our communities. American manufacturing protects the nation and builds the middle class.
I am proud to have secured $8.68 million in federal funding for the improvement and rehabilitation of the Germantown, Englewood and Taylorsville dams. This project is tied for the largest individual earmark in the FY26 Homeland Security appropriations bill, secured by any member of the House or Senate.
Part of being a community leader is protecting the things that protect others, and the Miami Conservancy District - MCD is an excellent steward of our region’s historical and vital dam system. Since the construction of these dams in the wake of the Great Flood of 1913, they have kept our community safe for 100 years.
This investment will ensure the protection of the critical infrastructure that protects our region, keeping Ohioans safe for many years to come.
It is an honor to recognize those who do so much for our community. I am happy to have presented this years Congressional Community Service Award to Jenell Ross. Whether through her business, her philanthropy or her service to organizations across our community, Jenell has always understood that leadership comes with a responsibility to help others. I’m proud to recognize her for the extraordinary difference she has made.
More than fifty years ago, as one of the deadliest storms in our region’s history closed in on Xenia, Gil Whitney, a local @whiotv weatherman, identified the imminent danger and took action to warn his neighbors.
Folks in Xenia still remember that warning and the lives Gil saved. Naming the Xenia post office after him ensures that the community he protected will always remember the heroism he showed when it mattered most. It was a privilege to stand beside two of Gil’s children with Xenia and Greene County leadership to honor a man who saved so many lives in our community.
Rep. Mike Turner says Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s explanation about Ukraine’s loss of Starlink access as something that “sort of happened” was “absolutely not” sufficient.
“This is something where there needs to be an investigation, there needs to be a congressional investigation,” Turner (R-OH) tells @margbrennan, adding, “lives are at risk, and lives are lost over these things.”
People deserve the opportunity to earn a good paycheck and the security of knowing the pension they worked for will be there when they retire. That's what I'm fighting for.
SUNDAY: We'll check in on Ohio Republican Congressman Mike Turner about how the 2026 campaign is playing in his state. PLUS — the latest on the Trump administration's strategy on Russia and Ukraine. Tune in, 10:30 a.m. ET.
Since 1775, our U.S. Navy sailors have defended our nation, protected global sea lanes, and answered the call around the world. To every sailor serving today, every veteran, and every family that supports them, thank you. Happy Birthday to the U.S. Navy. 🇺🇸
@wrightstate, @WrightPattAFB and the @usairforce have a unique relationship that has been a part of who we are as a region for generations.
On November 2nd the Stars, Stripes and Flight Classic will feature the Wright State University Raiders and the Air Force Academy Falcons at the Nutter Center. Events like this bring us together and celebrate the connection between our military and civilian communities.
Today is World Mental Health Day, but it important to remember everyday that no one should have to struggle in silence. Check in on your loved ones, and if you or someone you know is in crisis call or text 988 and reach out.

As opportunities grow within the base, so do the opportunities outside the fence. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base contributes to much more than our national defense. These investments create thousands of jobs and bring billions of dollars to our region, strengthening our community and providing opportunity.
Energy independence is critical to our economic and national security. I have long supported an all-of-the-above approach to domestic energy production. Through strengthening strategic partnerships with key allies and lifting unreasonable restrictions on energy production we can help grow both our workforce and economy.
The sky is no longer the limit in the birthplace of aviation! Wright-Patt serves as an integral part of both our local community and our national security, and continues to grow. From a new Advanced Materials Research Laboratory, a new Space Force intelligence facility, to potentially becoming the home of the nations newest service academy; the United States Space Academy. As the base grows our security is strengthened as well as our community.

The number of jobs at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base has nearly doubled during my time in Congress, and the base continues to grow. That growth attracts additional jobs and investment outside the fence. Wright-Patterson is the economic engine of our region and an instrumental asset to our national security.
