As Breast Cancer Awareness Month ends, the fight for patients continues. No one battling metastatic breast cancer should have to wait for the care and benefits they need. I’m proud to cosponsor the bipartisan Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act to eliminate those waiting periods.
As Co-Chair of the Congressional Croatian Caucus, it was an honor to attend tonight’s opening of the A250 Military Exhibition at the American-Croatian Lodge in Eastlake, hosted by the Embassy of Croatia. Northeast Ohio has deep Croatian roots, and this exhibition recognizes Croatian Americans who served our country in the U.S. Armed Forces, including Medal of Honor recipients, and honors their courage and sacrifice.
Thank you, @CroatiaInUSA, for including me in this meaningful event. Through my role as Co-Chair, I’ve worked to strengthen the economic and strategic ties between the U.S. and Croatia, and I look forward to continuing that work.
I’ve seen firsthand how important the Croatian American community is to Northeast Ohio. With around 10,000 Croatian Americans in Ohio’s 14th District, strengthening our ties with Croatia has been a priority of mine in Congress.
From co-chairing the Croatian Caucus to advancing the U.S.-Croatia tax treaty and working with Croatian leaders, read more about my work: https://t.co/fdFlGSqwJ2
Red Ribbon Week is about more than raising awareness. It's about helping young people make informed choices and building communities where prevention, treatment, and recovery are priorities. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Addiction, Treatment, and Recovery Caucus, I was glad to support a resolution recognizing Red Ribbon Week, October 23–31. The progress we've seen in Northeast Ohio shows why this work matters.
Thank you to the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber for hosting a productive roundtable discussion at Trumbull Industries in Warren. We began with a tour of the facility before discussing key issues facing the Mahoning Valley. I appreciated hearing directly from local business leaders about their priorities and how we can continue strengthening Northeast Ohio’s economy.
This Red Ribbon Week, we’re recognizing the importance of drug prevention and celebrating progress right here in Northeast Ohio. Since 2020, overdose deaths in Lake County have fallen by more than 75%. As Co-Chair of the Congressional Addiction, Treatment, and Recovery Caucus, I’ve worked to support efforts to combat the overdose crisis nationwide. That progress reflects the power of prevention, treatment, recovery, and communities working together to save lives. We must keep it going.

Regulatory restraint. Financial integrity. National security.
@RepDaveJoyce’s FY27 FSGG bill:
✅ Reins in red tape and IRS overreach
✅ Prioritizes cyber defenses
✅ Tightens scrutiny of foreign acquisitions
✅ Combats terror efforts and fentanyl
✅ Backs small businesses
It is important to me that all Northeast Ohioans know that quality care is close by. That is why I was proud to preliminarily secure $2 million in Community Project Funding for ARMC to upgrade its existing Level I cardiac catheterization lab to a Level II interventional cath lab. This upgrade would expand access to life-saving cardiac care in rural Ashtabula County. I will keep working to expand accessible and affordable treatment centers for Ohioans.
I am proud to have supported the creation of the Rural Health Transformation Program, which has awarded $1,377,479 to Ashtabula Regional Medical Center for quality-improvement projects. This investment will help local providers improve how they deliver care and bring services closer to home for patients across Ashtabula County.

I was glad to join Auburn Career Center as they celebrated the completion of more than $9 million in campus improvements, including a new Workforce Innovation Center, expanded Cosmetology labs, and a new Healthcare Wing. These improvements will provide students with valuable hands-on training and help prepare them to join the workforce.
I was honored to join community leaders and local officials to celebrate the NOPEC Neighborhood Next Program and the completion of new homes in Conneaut. This program expands affordable housing across communities like Conneaut, helping to bring the promise of homeownership within reach for more families. The successful completion of this project shows what local, state, and federal partners can accomplish through collaboration and creative solutions to our housing challenges.

Northeast Ohio has a lot to offer, and continued investment is key to building on that strength. Last week, I joined the groundbreaking ceremony for Uptown Mentor, a new development that will bring housing, businesses, and economic opportunities along Mentor Avenue. I’m glad to see projects like this moving forward and helping position our region for future growth.
On Friday, I toured the construction site of the new Lake County Public Safety Center with Lake County Sheriff Leonbruno. I was proud to secure $4.2 million in community project funding through the Fiscal Year 2026 appropriations process to support technology and security enhancements in the facility. As a former prosecutor, keeping our communities safe continues to be one of my top priorities.
Happy 251st Birthday, @USNavy! Today, we celebrate the brave sailors and veterans who defend our seas, protect our freedoms, and keep our nation safe.
With Cleveland set to be home to a planned 46,000-square-foot Navy submarine component repair center, Ohio is helping strengthen America’s maritime and manufacturing future.
Today, I appreciated the opportunity to meet with @AARPOhio to discuss issues impacting older Ohioans, including Social Security, senior housing, support for family caregivers, and protecting seniors from fraud and scams. Thank you, AARP Ohio, for the important work you do to support seniors across our state.
Lake Erie is a critical resource for Northeast Ohio and communities across the region. In a recent telephone town hall I hosted, 72% of participants said improving water quality and reducing pollution should be Congress’ top priority when it comes to protecting the Great Lakes.
That’s why I’ve worked to advance legislation like the BEACH Act, which strengthens efforts to monitor water quality and identify sources of contamination in tandem with the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative.
I’m proud to be an original cosponsor of H.Res. 1618, a bipartisan resolution commemorating the third anniversary of the October 7th attacks and calling for the complete disarmament of Hamas. This resolution honors the lives lost and sends a clear message that we will never forget the horrors of that day or allow antisemitism to go unanswered.
Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists murdered over 1,200 people in Israel and took 251 hostages. We remember every life stolen, pray for the families still grieving, and stand with the survivors. We will not forget, and we will not be silent in the face of antisemitism.
