“My wife called them my Paxil eyes. It’s like my eyes were big and never closed.”
—David Carmichael
Something makes people deeply uncomfortable about cases involving antidepressants and horrific violence: the people closest to the killer often forgive them.
Relationships end over far less. What could be harder to forgive than filicide?
Why forgive?
Because they watched someone they loved become unrecognizable.
Look at David Carmichael.
After four months off Paxil, Carmichael put himself back on 40 mg during a period of severe sleep deprivation. Eight days later, he raised it to 60 mg. He says the agitation, akathisia, sleeplessness and suicidal thinking began almost immediately.
And then… he seemed better.
He returned to work, drove, answered calls and even felt sharper.
But something was wrong. A delusion had embedded itself in his mind. Something horrible. Yet unquestionable. Accepted as fact. Like gravity.
The sky is blue.
My shoes are brown.
If I drop this plate, it breaks.
I have to kill Ian.
David became convinced that his son Ian's mild epilepsy meant permanent brain damage and a life of suffering. He planned the killing, took Ian to a hotel, gave him sleeping pills, strangled him, watched television for hours and calmly called police.
David’s organization did not disprove his psychosis. It showed how psychosis can work. His reasoning was orderly while his premise was insane.
Carmichael says the cloud of delusion lifted about two weeks after his arrest and the immediate discontinuation of Paxil.
He cried uncontrollably for three days.
“I’ll never fully recover from this.”
“This did something to my brain that no one will ever fully understand. Including me.”
Both Crown and defense psychiatrists diagnosed major depression with psychotic episodes. He was found not criminally responsible.
Paxil itself was never litigated, so the court did not find that the drug caused the killing. His later lawsuit against GlaxoSmithKline was dismissed on a statute-of-limitations issue without causation ever being tried.
His wife and surviving daughter still stood by him and later lived with him again.
Now look at David Crespi.
Crespi had a longer history of severe depression, so his case is not as clean. But immediately before killing his five-year-old twins, he was withdrawing from Paxil and had been given ten days of trazodone, ten days of Ambien, seven days of Prozac and one night of Lunesta.
He stabbed Tessara and Samantha while Kim was getting a haircut, then called 911.
Jail doctors documented confusion, delusional thinking and impaired judgment. Crespi later said lawn sprinklers had instructed him to kill the girls and that Kim could bring them back to life.
And yet Kim stood by him. She blamed the prescriptions. When asked whether she forgave him, she said he did not need her forgiveness because the man she knew had not committed the crime.
No court found that the drugs caused Crespi’s violence. He pleaded guilty and remains in prison. But Kim has spent years saying, “It wouldn’t have happened without the prescriptions.”
Patrick Clancy has never publicly said the drug cocktail caused the killings. But he testified that Lindsay “kept getting worse and worse” after the Zoloft increase, that ten prescriptions in just over two months “didn’t make sense,” and that Seroquel made her worse.
He forgave her and asked the public to do the same.
Forgiveness is not proof that the drugs are to blame. But it matters because the people with the clearest view of these transformations did not look at the violence and think, “That was who they were all along.”
I have watched people close to me become unrecognizable on psychiatric drugs. Completely out-of-character rage. Delusional certainty that did not exist before.
These drugs aren’t Tylenol. Their effects can build and linger.
We do not understand SSRI adverse reactions nearly well enough to dismiss them with “Most people take them without killing anyone.” Most people are irrelevant to what happened to the person in front of you.
And how many less obvious cases get written off with psychiatry’s circular logic?
“He was already depressed. He would have done it anyway. Imagine how much worse he’d have been without the meds.”
Where have we heard that before?
In many of these cases, the adverse reaction itself justifies more medication. Agitation becomes “worsening illness.” Drug-induced sleeplessness becomes evidence of “bipolar mania.” Soon the illness and the treatment are impossible to separate.
Like David Carmichael and David Crespi, Lindsay is back in reality.
She came back paralyzed.
Now she watches her remarried ex-husband from across the courtroom while the final moments of their children’s lives are reconstructed in front of her.
She has to understand what she did, then wake up inside that knowledge every day until she dies.
No single fact proves that psychiatric drugs caused Lindsay Clancy to kill her children. But she reacted very badly, stopped sleeping, was repeatedly started and stopped on new drugs, and became psychotic while the people closest to her watched. Her prescribers kept going. And we have seen this pattern before.
“It wouldn’t have happened without the prescriptions.”
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but after Lindsay was instructed to double her Zoloft dose, she went 48 hours without sleep and freaked out. That was clear “activation” and her prescriber identified it as such yet still leveraged it into a bipolar diagnosis. And more drugs. Despite a negative bipolar screen and no history of mania.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Lindsay also couldn’t tolerate Prozac. When she said Seroquel made her depressed and numb, her psychiatrist said she was “over-attributing” symptoms to medication.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Lindsay was prescribed roughly 13 psychiatric drugs in four months with no coherent deprescribing plan. Eight days before the killings, she started amitriptyline; the day before, she was told to double it.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but nobody established that Lindsay had a serotonin deficiency because psychiatry has no validated clinical test for low brain serotonin. A 2022 umbrella review found no convincing evidence that depression is caused by low serotonin. The “chemical imbalance” story was always marketing presented as settled science.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but SSRIs block the serotonin transporter, SERT, and their dose-occupancy curve is hyperbolic. Tiny doses can still occupy a substantial share of transporters, making a conventional final drop to zero potentially the largest biological change of the taper. Neuroadaptation can begin within weeks. Even short exposure can warrant a hyperbolic taper, especially after a bad reaction.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but genetic differences can materially alter how these drugs are metabolized. Lindsay received no pharmacogenetic testing. Such testing is rare.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but FDA antidepressant labeling warns about abrupt agitation, hostility, aggressiveness, impulsivity, akathisia, hypomania and mania, especially when treatment begins or doses change.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but Lilly excluded 76 of 97 reported suicidality cases from one fluoxetine analysis. A Lilly Germany employee objected to instructions to recode “suicide attempt” as “overdose” and “suicidal ideation” as “depression.”
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but premeditation does not disqualify psychosis. A psychotic person can carry out an organized plan while reasoning from a delusional premise. That’s basic psychiatry.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but a federal civil jury found Paxil caused Donald Schell to kill his family and himself. And a judge found that David Hawkins would not have killed his wife but for Zoloft.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but this also happened to William Forsyth, David Carmichael, Shane Clancy, Neal Jacobson and Peter Miles. Each case involved recent antidepressant or psychiatric-drug exposure followed by horrific, profoundly uncharacteristic violence.
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but “most people who take Zoloft do not murder their children” is obvious. “Zoloft cannot contribute to lethal violence in a susceptible person” is a very different claim.
You can condemn Lindsay Clancy without granting psychiatry immunity. Your little slogan does not explain what happened to her, and it doesn’t prove the drugs were irrelevant.
All these idiots trying to bullshit their way into leading MAGA, clearly have absolutely no idea what MAGA is.

ladies and gentlemen: welcome to the broken pathologies of modernity.
today we have a woman, who, paid a simple and seemingly sincere compliment by an "old man" is unable to even parse the situation, much less live within it.
instead of feeling good from pleasant sentiments, instead her mental state becomes a bag of fighting squirrels that simply cannot assess what just happened or find any way to see it as a simple positive.
she's ostensibly angry for being complimented but at the same time so desperate for attention and praise that she then goes online in full makeup and skin tight, high-reveal clothing to humble-brag about being called "gorgeous" as though it were some affront.
yet obviously she wishes to be seen this way.
it's all she can talk about.
what can one call this save pathological?
she's deperate to be seen as beautiful yet when someone literally says "you're gorgeous" to her, her response is to rage against it online as a virtue signal against compliments in a desperate attempt to elicit others.
she repeats it over and over obsessively.
"tell me i am beautiful but also the victim here" seems a desperate sort of fragility, a construct within which happiness is basically impossible.
what's next?
the cry video about how no men ever speak to her in bars?
it's a head on collision of profound narcissism and desperate insecurity accelerated by a profound lack of any internal sense of self or position.
this seems like pure performance, a sort of stylized internet dance cultivated to cry for help and attention while virtue signaling ideological purity to the very ideologies that made you so unstable.
how does one win that game?

Old news is more important than new news because new news is built on top of it. When you are renovating a structure you don't start with the roof but with the foundation.
Let's go back and get the old stories right. Otherwise nothing will be right, from here on out.
The revelations to come, in
many areas, are stacked much deeper and higher than most suspect. Never in my life have I been aware of such a backlog of important untold stories. That's why I don't get hung up on the situation at any one point.
🚨BREAKING: President Trump goes scorched earth on Obama saying he committed treason:
“It would be President Obama. And Biden was there with him ... the leader of the gang was Obama. Barack Hussein Obama. He's guilty. This is treason.”
HOAX: It turns out AOC was a fake candidate with a fake backstory. She is right out of central casting and now, thanks to Benny Johnson, we know the truth.

If you have a head on your shoulders, you will be asking yourself: why is DNC law firm highly connected to US intelligence at the highest level agreeing to represent Republican "We Need To Go Into The Capitol" January 6 Insurrection Posterboy Ray Epps?
"Why is the 2020 Republican share of the popular vote larger than the 2024 share of the popular vote?
I thought we brought more people to the polls this time?"
Great questions.
Here's the answers:
We did.
We did bring more people to the polls to vote for Trump in 2024 than we did in 2020.
You're starting to catch on, see.
About how bad the vote fraud is across the fruited plain.
You're beginning to see what the 'Too Big To Rig' strategy was crafted by very smart people to expose.
It not only completely exposed the fake 20 million or so votes that were injected into the 2020 count for Joe Biden...
...it's also exposing the fact there's still a lot of election fraud going on, because Trump **should have** won by far more than he did in the official totals.
Everybody knows he brought a far larger base to the polls in 2024 than he did in 2020.
Why then, is that larger base not reflected in the official vote count?
I would submit that the much larger # of people voting for Trump in 2024 than 2020 is not currently being reflected in the official vote count because of ELECTION FRAUD.
And when the 2024 election is investigated, we're going to discover they 'shaved off' a couple dozen million Trump votes and added a few million for Harris here and there.
But because the base Trump brought to the polls yesterday was just THAT FREAKING MASSIVE, it completely overwhelmed their cheat systems.
See, they TRIED to cheat. They really did. They tried to cheat SO HARD...and they failed.
And that's a beautiful thing...
