St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in St. Gabriel LA. Celebrating over 250 years of bringing the Good News to all. Masses Sat. 4pm, Sun. 8 and 10am.
May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
God, you are great & good — & honestly, what do I not owe you? You took me from nothing & by your mercy made me who I am today. How could I ever do enough to truly praise your name or thank you the way you deserve? I don’t even know where to begin. Amen
"God's very being is love. By sending his only Son and the Spirit of Love in the fullness of time, God has revealed his innermost secret: God himself is an eternal exchange of love, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and he has destined us to share in that exchange."
(Catechism of the Catholic Church, 221)

In many ways, Father Michael J. McGivney was just one more of that band of hardworking Irish-American priests who spent themselves building up the church in America in the latter years of the 19th century. But in one truly extraordinary respect, he was unique: Before he was 30, Father McGivney had founded what was to become the largest Catholic men’s organization in the world: the #KnightsOfColumbus. https://t.co/WXCjbmqLaz #Commentary #Blog #FaithBlog

Early this morning, on this Feast Day of the Sacred Heart, the CHS Class of 1977 Mission Cross was put into place. After a year of fundraising by the class and design collaboration, the cross now stands tall in front of our school as a beautiful reminder of our faith.
Relativism predicted in 2 Timothy “For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine
but, following their own desires and insatiable curiosity,
will accumulate teachers and will stop listening to the truth
and will be diverted to myths.”
Catholics believe in one God in three Divine Persons: the Father, the Son, & the Holy Spirit. Not three gods, but one God—equal in divinity, distinct in personhood, united in one eternal nature. The Holy Trinity is the central mystery of the faith. #Catholic#HolyTrinity
Does the Father hate sinners? No, but he hates sin. Does God harbor indignation at the unjust? No, but God despises injustice. Thus God sends his Son not gleefully to see him suffer but to set things right -Bishop Barron
