A meaningful meeting with K. Annamalai @annamalai_k today, during which I had the opportunity to personally hand over a copy of my book, Inside the War Room, a book made even more special because he graciously contributed the Foreword.

Our conversation covered a wide range of subjects, including the current political landscape, leadership, governance, public engagement, and the evolving aspirations of the next generation of political leaders. As always, I found him thoughtful, grounded, and deeply committed to the larger cause he believes in.

What I particularly appreciate about Annamalai is his willingness to engage in candid discussions, listen to diverse perspectives, and continuously challenge conventional thinking. Whether one agrees with him or not, his journey and approach to public life have undoubtedly inspired many young people to participate more actively in the democratic process.

I am grateful for the time he took to meet, exchange ideas, and reflect on some of the lessons and experiences captured in Inside the War Room. Conversations like these reinforce the importance of dialogue, leadership, and the constant pursuit of better ideas for society.

Wishing him the very best in his journey ahead.

As part of the mission to enroll 50 lakh members into the @WTLFoundation , we conducted a membership drive at Dharapuram Bus Stand today.

The response was encouraging. Many people already knew about the movement, had watched Annamalai's videos, and were aware of the work being done.

But the biggest takeaway wasn't the registrations.

A woman approached us and said she had seen our stall the previous day too, but hesitated to come near because it was staffed only by men. She told us that if there had been a woman volunteer, she would have felt comfortable asking about the movement and joining earlier.

That one conversation taught us an important lesson.

If we want to build a true grassroots movement, women must not just be members but also active volunteers and representatives on the ground. Their presence helps many more women participate confidently.

Every membership drive helps grow the movement. Today's drive helped us grow our understanding.

@WTLFoundation-இல் 50 லட்சம் உறுப்பினர்களைச் சேர்க்கும் இயக்கத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக, இன்று தாராபுரம் பேருந்து நிலையத்தில் உறுப்பினர் சேர்க்கை முகாம் நடத்தினோம்.

மக்களின் வரவேற்பு ஊக்கமளிப்பதாக இருந்தது. பலருக்கு இந்த இயக்கத்தைப் பற்றி ஏற்கனவே தெரிந்திருந்தது, அண்ணாமலை அவர்களின் வீடியோக்களைப் பார்த்திருந்தனர், மேலும் இங்கு செய்யப்படும் பணிகளைப் பற்றியும் அறிந்திருந்தனர்.

ஆனால், இந்த முகாமின் மிகப்பெரிய பாடம் வெறும் பதிவுகள் (registrations) மட்டுமல்ல.

ஒரு பெண்மணி எங்களை அணுகி, முந்தைய நாளும் எங்களது ஸ்டாலைப் பார்த்ததாகக் கூறினார். ஆனால் அங்கிருந்தவர்கள் அனைவரும் ஆண்கள் என்பதால் அருகில் வர அவர் தயங்கியுள்ளார். ஒரு பெண் தன்னார்வலர் (volunteer) அங்கிருந்திருந்தால், இயக்கத்தைப் பற்றிக் கேட்டுத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, முன்னரே சேர்ந்திருப்பேன் என்று அவர் எங்களிடம் கூறினார்.

அந்த ஒரு உரையாடல் எங்களுக்கு ஒரு முக்கியமான பாடத்தைக் கற்றுக்கொடுத்தது.

நாம் உண்மையிலேயே அடிமட்ட அளவிலான (grassroots) ஒரு இயக்கத்தைக் கட்டியெழுப்ப விரும்பினால், பெண்கள் வெறும் உறுப்பினர்களாக மட்டும் இருக்கக் கூடாது; களத்தில் தீவிரமாகச் செயல்படும் தன்னார்வலர்களாகவும் பிரதிநிதிகளாகவும் இருக்க வேண்டும். அவர்களின் இருப்பு இன்னும் பல பெண்கள் நம்பிக்கையுடன் பங்கேற்க உதவும்.

ஒவ்வொரு உறுப்பினர் சேர்க்கை முகாமும் இயக்கத்தை வளர்க்க உதவுகிறது. இன்றைய முகாமோ, எங்களின் புரிதலை வளர்த்துக்கொள்ள உதவியது.
