Academic malpractice has to be dealt with. Due process must protect everyone.

And if caste abuse actually occurred, investigate it ruthlessly. But isn't this PURE MISUSE of this act?

Dr Doolla is an acclaimed professor of Energy Sciences at IIT Bombay. An MTech and a PhD from IIT, he has received excellence in teaching award twice. He recently caught a student cheating. The student committed suicide.

Dr Doolla has now been charged under the SC/ST Act.

🚨India’s Artificial Sun, 20 Times Hotter Than the Real Sun, Moves Closer to the Next Breakthrough as a Powerful New Gyrotron Is Installed

India's fusion programme has taken another major step forward with the installation and commissioning of an 82.6 GHz, 400 kW gyrotron on the SST-1 tokamak at the Institute for Plasma Research in Gujarat.

SST-1 is India's powerful superconducting fusion reactor, designed to recreate the process that powers the Sun by confining ultra-hot plasma with magnetic fields. Indian experiments have achieved plasma temperatures exceeding 200 million degrees Celsius, many times hotter than the Sun's core.

The new gyrotron generates high-frequency microwave energy and injects it into the tokamak to heat and sustain the plasma. Compared with the earlier 42 GHz system, the new technology provides greater heating capability and could help researchers maintain extremely hot plasma for longer and more stable periods.

That is crucial because fusion is not simply about reaching extraordinary temperatures. The real challenge is sustaining and controlling the plasma long enough to make fusion energy practically viable.

Fusion promises enormous potential, with abundant fuel resources and far less long-lived radioactive waste than conventional fission. But commercial fusion power remains an engineering challenge.

The new gyrotron will not make SST-1 a commercial power plant, but it significantly strengthens India's ability to study sustained, high-temperature fusion plasma. India's "artificial Sun" is not producing electricity yet, but the country is steadily moving closer to mastering the technology that could one day make fusion energy a reality.
