GEOG 3301 (Environmental Geography) is an ACE course and the students have decided to initiate composting on campus 🌎. A big thank you to the Center for Community Engagement in helping us purchase a few composting bins ♻️🚮🪴 @SHSU_CCE
Elliott & I enjoyed hosting faculty who have served @SamHoustonState for 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years. Oh the stories they could tell! They helped build an exceptional university, and I am grateful!
Our 4-yo grandson got to pet this pony at a DFW library. Our 9-yo grandson got to pet a reptile at the Huntsville library. All of our grandkids love to go to their public libraries to read books, see exhibits, and have adventures. Community treasures!
Last week some of our girls had the opportunity to volunteer at our local library for Builders Club. We appreciate the invite and can’t wait to come back in the fall for more fun!

We had two professors share their Academic Community Engagement (ACE) experiences with us! Dr. O’Brien’s class worked with the Huntsville Walker County Chamber of Commerce on their visual identify, while Professor Garrison’s class worked with Second Preschool on prospect packets.
During our Houston Family Christmas THIS Saturday, we will be serving holiday refreshments at Eliza’s Kitchen.
For the gingerbread, we are using a recipe that comes from John Cook’s 1824 cookbook, “Cooking and Confectionary”.
