@SmoothManSports@thetailgateapp oh trust me i'd have loved to seen them struggle to do it. But at the end of the day there aren't 5 teams better than them in Conmebol currently.
@vanshv2k The only argument that slightly could tip the scales in Zverev's favor is the Olympic gold, but for me, peak Medvedev >> Zverev's consistency, and his numbers against top players show that. Zverev would NEVER have managed to beat Djokovic in straight sets in a Slam final.
@puresinnema What about Shelton? He's been poor over the last few months with the exception of Munich but the past two years he was only beaten by Sinner and can play on grass. I was gonna say Meddy too but i don't trust him on Slams anymore.
@puresinnema Roger won his only Roland Garros that way. He didn't need to beat Rafa, but he was making the final every year and seized the opportunity when it presented itself.
@puresinnema I'm not saying Mensik will win, i'm not even his biggest fan, but in a few years you could look back and Jakub could easily stand with some of those names, and it wouldn't seem so strange that he beat Zverev in a Slam semifinal.
@vanshv2k I've thinking that ever since the minute Sinner was eliminated. There's been this whole narrative for the past few years that the field outside Jannik and Carlos is weak, and hopefully this tournament changes that perspective.
@puresinnema But when there's electronic line calling, players also complain that the umpire can't come down to check the marks. Ultimately i think people have to accept that the margins are sometimes very small and the margin of error exists and it's part of the game.
