Every family deserves to breathe clean air, not dangerous and deadly diesel pollution from trucks. Today, we're telling @EPA: Don’t roll back protections. We can’t afford it.

@katherinejulia@EPA@michigansierra@sierraclubmd@jessepiedfort@VTSierraClub Every year this rule’s protections are delayed or weakened is another year of trucks on our highways emitting more NOx than they should, and another year of kids in Indianapolis and across the country breathing in toxic pollution.
We're waiting for Exxon, Chevron, Shell, and BP to report their Q2 profits, suspected to be an astronomical figure, up to $36 BILLION. That windfall profit is a result of increased oil prices following Trump's war with Iran - paid by you.
And fossil fuel interests are lobbying states and Congress to get legal immunity from the climate damage they cause. A number of states have already signed laws that give polluters a shield from financial responsibility for their mess.

@katherinejulia@EPA@michigansierra The @EPA proposal lets truck manufacturers walk away from responsibility after they've already admitted they're ready to meet the current standards.
PACCAR, @Cummins, and @DaimlerTruck have all publicly said they have the technology to comply.
Great job to California for this smart new program! And kudos to many other states that are making up for lost federal EV tax credits in innovative ways as well! 🌟
Research shows that once drivers try an electric vehicle, they stick with them.
That’s why these new incentives in California through the "MyFirstEV" program focus on those who’ve never owned one.

Congratulations to communities in Louisiana who organized through the @SierraClub to pressure @Hyundai to swap polluting equipment for electric alternatives.
We still want to see Hyundai commit to using green hydrogen as soon as possible at their planned Louisiana steel mill, but this news shows that the company is beginning to listen to and engage with community concerns around air quality.
