IT'S BACK! Once again, LEGO is permissible (or at least not ruled out 😁) so I'll do my best to put something together for it again.
Here was my entry for last year's #JustLikeAwdry challenge!
Today marks 74 years since the first train was run by the fledgling Talyllyn Railway Preservation Society all the way back in 1951!
Today the very same tape cut by Bill Trinder all those years ago was cut once more - this time by Garry Mumford, Financial Officer of the Railway!
' When the Vicar and his two boys arrived in the evening, Trevor was blowing off steam. He hadn't felt so happy for months. '
Happy 80th, everyone! I got Edward the Blue Engine for the art collab this round.

“I am a splendid engine,” answered James loftily, “ready for anything. You never see my paint dirty.”
To Celebrate the 80th anniversary of The Railway Series and franchise, I’m ecstatic and red-y to reveal:
NWR No.5 ‘James’

Dear Friends,
The Fat Controller is organising special events on Sodor to celebrate 80 years of the Thin Clergyman's 'Engine Stories'. He asked me to make this poster about them.
I hope you enjoy it. If you would like to own one, please read on.

A very happy 80th anniversary for the Railway Series. I sincerely hope you're all doing well. Felt only right to check in for the first time in so long and take in the ambience, so to speak...
The Awdry Extravaganza 2025 celebrates the life and legacy of the Rev. W. Awdry, creator of Thomas the Tank Engine and one of the earliest volunteers on the Talyllyn Railway.
This three-day event from 18 to 20 July 2025 is the ultimate celebration of his most enduring creation.
@ChaosDustSteam From the NWR, no - that's many years off yet! But from the account, almost definitely. All in all, while I miss old friends, the community itself hasn't always been the most pleasant, and in many ways I feel it better to leave it be. Fun while it lasted, but times change!

@Nictrain123@theburiedtruck@Nictrain123@theburiedtruck Some additional context - before the NRM, Nine Elms was originally on the cards to become a railway museum of similar scale. 1957 was be the final year of consideration. One could say we were the 'last hurrah'.

Damn, blast, and utter poppycock. Oliver has arrived complaining of an ache in his firebox. I didn't realise more than Pug had been given the fresh batch. Disaster.
Off back to my office for another hot toddy. Or two. Or three...
Trains are running to time. We're facing a terrible cold snap on the Western end of the island. Decided to make a hot toddy.
Oh no, I accidentally use two measures... oops, there goes a third. Such a shame...
Damn and blast. Pug is being 'packed in' for the night and found to be full of clinker. It seems our latest batch of imported coal isn't up to snuff. Again. One of the shed staff is going at it with a toffee hammer to little effect.
