We remember the 1994 Rwanda Genocide & commit to #NeverAgain.
Genocide starts with division, hate speech, inequality & silence. In Uganda, we must reject ethnic & political polarization, misinformation & impunity.
Speak up. Stay united. Protect every life.

As we mark the last day of #WomensMonth 2026, we celebrate the powerful voices of women across the IGAD region courageously leading peacebuilding, including preventing violent extremism. Watch their testimonials at: https://t.co/IFTvYEnAPD #Women4Peace#Women4PCVE
"To the women of this region: your voice and agency are powerful tools for peace & therefore let us harness this power to facilitate peace processes & break cycles of violence as we continue to stand with #Sudan as women of the IGAD region." #WomensMonth#Women4Peace#Women4PCVE
"Honored to be part of amazing women from different countries, different backgrounds, different stories & shared purpose. The training helped me understand how good communication can fight harmful ideas & support peace in our communities." #WomensMonth#Women4Peace#Women4PCVE
"Women are supposed to be engaged in peacebuilding and therefore engaging them to discuss issues that are affecting the communities really help them to counter issues related to violent extremism in the region." #WomensMonth#Women4Peace#Women4PCVE
"I thank IGAD for the great opportunity for the youth to sit at the table to discuss issues that not only affect our countries but also regional issues... to the youth, there's a voice, so there's something we can definitely contribute." #WomensMonth#Women4Peace#Women4PCVE
Uganda stood strong at the Strategic Communication Workshop for P/CVE.
When women speak with one voice, we don’t just rise we shake the silence, confront fear, and demand predictable and sustainable PEACE for ALL.
#Women4PCVE#WomensMonth
A powerful reminder from women in the Pearl of Africa 🇺🇬: "Our nation’s strength lies in unity."
They call on all to refuse to be used against one another through rumour, fear, or manipulation and to remember that a shared future is a responsibility for everyone. #WomensMonth #Women4PCVE #Women4Peace #Uganda #IGAD #Peace #Security
Being part of this experience showed me one truth: when WOMEN call for PEACE, they help break cycles of conflict that fuel violent extremism.

Extremism thrives on division. Women from South Sudan 🇸🇸 raise their voices to call for healing and reconciliation as the path for the nation to thrive. Call for pursuit of ideas, not identities, and to see diversity as a strength. #Women4PCVE#WomensMonth#Women4Peace #SouthSudan
