The San Jose earthquakes are top of the table and arguably the best team in the league and I’ll see like 1 person a week who even kinda knows. At most I’m just seeing the logo more. This only applies when the country breathes football unfortunately
When we got promoted to the premier league the buzz in Luton was massive and the feeling around the town was incredible.
Seeing your hometown/local club be successful has no other feeling.
If you don’t support your local you will never understand and just won’t get it.
@milkospit@Tightlettuce They barely market anywhere. As a kid i remember being so shocked when other kids would say they have no clue what the earthquakes are
@3SharksInACoat@Tightlettuce I definitely worded it completely wrong. I meant it’s not at the level of other countries and most don’t care about the league
@tanuj34412389 I disagree, San Jose has always had great soccer culture. The issue is just most people don’t care about the quakes themselves due to a multiple reasons. I’d say the biggest issue is the owner never doing anything to grow the team
@LukeCadenhead I feel for you man. I’m super lucky that I have a couple of friends and my dad who all love the quakes. Unfortunately none love them as much as me 😭
@maxcorncob Oh absolutely. But if San Jose and the quakes were in England and topping any league table there the entire city would be absolutely ecstatic. I don’t blame anyone besides fisher. It’s just shit for people who were lucky to be born in England to gatekeep others from teams.
🚨 Paul Pogba on Cristiano Ronaldo during his darkest period :
“When the suspension news came out, my phone was full for two days… then suddenly, silence. People I thought were brothers disappeared. Agents stopped calling. Friends became busy. Football can make you feel loved… but it can also show you who’s real.”
“But one name I didn’t expect to hear from was Cristiano.”
“He didn’t call me to talk about football, training, or headlines. He asked me one thing… ‘How is your family? Are you okay mentally?’ That hit me differently.”
“A few days later he told me, ‘If you need anything anything for your family, your recovery, your life call me. Pride should never stop you from accepting help.’”
“At that moment, I wasn’t talking to Cristiano Ronaldo the superstar… I was talking to a man who understood pain, pressure, and loneliness.”
“I’ve played with champions before… but in hard times, you discover who the real ones are.”
Btw can we bring back never say die as our goal anthem? The song is a banger and it’s the first time in so long that the quakes actually get to be Saturday’s hero
