We are the Laudato Si’ Ambassadors for St. Joseph and St. Bede's R.C. Primary School. Our goal is to care for ourselves, each other and our environment.
Today, Laudato Si met to discuss a large, long-term project to improve our Forest School site. In future sessions we will consider designs, materials we need and how to appeal for donations of materials and raise funds to achieve our goal. @StJosephStBede
After a busy day learning all about India our knowledge has hugely grown! We know all about India’s perfect climate for growing tea, about the physical and human features to see and we created some wonderful art too! We hope you like our postcards from our visit @MissKeiley 🌎
I am very proud of our staff @MissCMcCaffer@misssburns and @MissKeiley for completing their @CharteredColl certificate in evidence informed practice. Helping to drive standards through researched practice. #sjsb#sjsbCPD
KS1 have been learning about change and loss this week. We understand that change is a necessary part of life and we identified some strategies for supporting ourselves and others through these times of transition. We showed wonderful respect and empathy. I am so proud! #sjsbpshe
It was a real delight to visit the staff of @StJosephStBede and thank them for their wonderful work after a successful week. @STOC_CAT is so grateful for the work they do to #MakeChristKnown
Today we chopped up fruit and veg for a healthy salad for our farm animals. We carefully removed seeds. The animals loved the salad. What a healthy treat to cheer them up on a stormy evening. @StJosephStBede
Today in Farm Club we were very lucky to meet our new hens kindly donated by Mrs Hather. Our Farm Club did a health check on them today to decide if they are ready to join our flock. Now we need to think of some names. So far we’ve had Claxy, Nugget, Rainbow. @StJosephStBede
As we approach the end of #SeasonofCreation, we invite you to join us on our journey to justice and peace by signing our Care for Creation Promise on behalf of your parish or school.
Don't forget to send any photos of your promises to [email protected]
This afternoon Laudato Si/Farm club raised £56.52 selling donuts. With the generous donations we will purchase a new roof for the rabbits shelter and forest school supplies. Thank you for your support everyone. @StJosephStBede
Today Laudato Si club members helped to set up some lunchtime gardening for children to freely join as well as planting up the planter by the main entrance. We planted sunflowers, pumpkins, cosmos and beetroot kindly donated by @HatherCharlotte.
Happy Laudato Si' Week! 🌍🌻🙏
As we celebrate the eighth anniversary of Pope Francis' inspiring document, we explore a little more about Laudato Si', what it means to us, and how we can live out its core messages in our day-to-day lives.
OK Year Six. You are ready for this. Hold your head high, take a deep breath and be proud. You are warriors!
And remember - we love you. X @StJosephStBede#sjsbmh
LaudatoSi Club watered their germinating seedlings. Then we weeded the EYFS planter and covered it with a weed suppressant until the children are ready to plant. @StJosephStBede@EcoSchools
This week in #Laudatosi we have chosen a variety of seeds to grow for our school, including flowers herbs and veg. We have re-used single-use plastic mushroom trays and plastic bottles to plant in and an old plastic container as a mini greenhouse.@EcoSchools@StJosephStBede
A HUGE thank you to all schools taking part in #CutYourCarbon. You're INSPIRING!
Don't forget to fill in the Impact Form before March 15 👉 https://t.co/TjuM2csHCH
As an extra thank you, we'll select 3 forms at random and cover the cost of those school's awards this Summer 😃
As part of our Waste topic for @EcoSchools, we have been learning about how the clothing industry effects climate change. We decided to hold a second hand shop to reuse good quality clothing that we no longer need♻️. #cutyourcarbon@StJosephStBede#sjsbsmsc#sjsbpshe
Today we ventured out to take notice of nature to give our mental health a boost in #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek. We went birdwatching for @RSPBEngland Big School Birdwatch to feel a part of our wider community and be good stewards of nature. @StJosephStBede
Laudato Sì wrapped up warm and went litter picking after school🗑. We distinguished what was recyclable♻️ and what wasn’t. We also went on a quest to see if our school provided a hedgehog a home by giving them shelter🦔🏠. @StJosephStBede#sjsbsmsc#sjsbgeography#sjsbpshe
