I am shocked and saddened by the nationwide incidents that killed at least six students and injured thousands by gunfire and sharp weapons wielded by the terrorists of the Awami League and law enforcement agencies. Students from various educational institutions across the country are protesting for the reform of the 56% quota system in Bangladesh's employment sector, demanding fair and equal opportunities based on meritocracy.
The barbaric Sheikh Hasina regime, illegally seizing state power through sham elections, has once again proven that there is no space for innocent students to express their legitimate demands, let alone for opposition political opinions.
I pray for the peace of the souls of those who were killed, for the quick recovery of the injured, and beg Allah to grant the families of the victims the strength to endure this grief and pain. I call upon everyone, regardless of party affiliation, to unite against the atrocities of this illegal government.
This regime is staging arson attacks to propagate against the democratic will of the Bangladeshi people. We condemn such heinous acts from Dictator Hasina’s regime.

Bangladesh’s PM Sheikh Hasina is expected to win Sunday’s controversial election, after the country's main opposition party said they were boycotting it.
Here's what you need to know ⤵️
At least 86,000 prisoners (among them maximum are @bnpbd78 leaders and activists) in 68 jails got the voting rights through postal ballots. Over 47,000 prisoners in 34 jails, only 10 cast their votes and others boycotted the terrorist @albd1971 organized #DummyElection#BoycottBAL
FYI: @albd1971 have a history of staging #sabotage arson cases to create an alibi for their blatant anti-democratic actions in 2014.
During the 1996 elections, 200+ vehicles were set ablaze in a single day in Chittagong by the BAL men.
Now they are doing the same again.
The election is a “sham” designed to cement Hasina’s rule, and would be inappropriate for BNP to participate in a vote with a “predetermined” outcome.
Critics have accused Hasina of authoritarianism, human rights violations, crackdowns on free speech and suppression of dissent, with thousands being jailed.

“As long as Hasina retains power, every election in Bangladesh will involve extensive irregularities, making the much-anticipated level-playing field a distant dream.” - My interview with @snigspeak in @Diplomat_APAC.

To take the ongoing movement to ultimate success, rising above partisan identity, irrespective of party, view, religion, and caste, I call upon every pro-democracy individual to commence non-cooperation with the present illegal government. By ensuring fascist Sheikh Hasina out of state power, a free, fair, impartial, and participatory election will be held in the country.

Isolated from the people of Bangladesh and the democratic world, Awami League continues to orchestrate state-sponsored violence. Their threats propagate a conspiracy to divert attention and cling to power with an illegitimate election, which is neither participatory nor inclusive. As this violent party’s history suggests and recent spree of incidents prove, the regime’s secret forces are devising strategies to launch assassination attacks and blame the pro-democracy opposition.
In a ‘dummy election’ with ‘predetermined selection’ in every constituency, which the pro-democracy people and political parties have boycotted, Awami League continues to escalate intra-party clashes and confrontations. This proves again, with or without political opposition or public participation, Awami League is a party of violence. I also condemn state-sponsored arson attacks, and call upon all stakeholders, in home and abroad, to be vigilant about these sabotages.
Regardless of what transpires on 7 January, this Awami League government remains illegal and illegitimate.
As the main opposition unifying the nation, BNP is dedicated to restoring the power that was and continues to be unjustly taken away, but rightfully belongs to the people of Bangladesh. We pledge to align economically and strategically with democratic nations and institutions, and implement domestic policies and initiatives to empower all Bangladeshis with freedom, equality and justice. Towards that goal, and with the support of the international community – the pro-democracy people of Bangladesh aim to ensure Sheikh Hasina’s resignation and establish a neutral, non-party election-time government – paving the way for a real election, the election that’ll truly reflect the will of a hundred and twenty million voters.
Party Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman, finally giving interviews to international news channels and news agencies. It's time for him to become an internationalized political leader.
