Today, I prayed with our Muslim brothers and sisters at Hill Station to mark the blessed occasion of Eid Al-Adha. May this sacred occasion inspire us to continue building a Sierra Leone rooted in unity, service, and care for one another.
I wish all Muslims in Sierra Leone and across the world a joyful and peaceful Eid Al-Adha celebration. Eid Mubarak.
Yesterday, I received VP Alicia Robinson-Morgan of MCC for her first visit to Sierra Leone to celebrate #Freedom 250. In Sierra Leone, we are showcasing the partnership between our two governments in the energy sector at the center of which is the 480 million energy Compact.
@AlphajorbaBah Alpha Bah, you are back with your opposition rhetorics. While we agree energy access is a challenge, this government took it from barely 18% to 34% and there are ongoing investments in the sector which will increase access to 80% by 2030. Pls try to balance your analysis
Today, I was honored to join senior government leaders and international guests at Day 2 of Leadership Colloquium 2.0—Reimagining African Leadership in an era of global uncertainty. We celebrate H.E. President Dr. Julius Maada Bio’s vision and service. Wishing him a very happy birthday and continued strength to lead Sierra Leone forward.
As chair of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Decentralization and Local Governance (IMC), I met with the Mayors and District Chairpersons of APC led Councils and Municipalities this morning.
We discussed our mutual desire for a swift resolution to the current political impasse and to ensure the Councils are able to function and provide services. There was strong commitment to continuing these engagements.
I also encouraged all stakeholders to leverage the IMC for its distinct role in facilitating dialogue and joint problem solving to further our local development objectives for the people of Sierra Leone. We must always remember that we are in service to our citizens.
On this Easter Sunday, I want us to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made for the sins of mankind. May we treat each other with kindness, in the same spirit of love and humanity and may these actions strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood amongst us. Happy Easter 🙏🏽
This morning in the company of Minister Nabila Tunis and other government stakeholders, I toured some of our newly constructed Tourist infrastructure at Leicester Peak and Tacogama. I was reminded of how truly breathtaking Sierra Leone is.
Later on, I commissioned the New Administrative Building of the Sierra Leone Correctional Services at Jomo Kenyatta road as part of government’s efforts to modernize correctional services.
@JFKSalone JFK, you want to use reductionist analysis to explain fuel shortage when everyone knows it is a global problem. Bra, say something serious. This kind of politicking is not going to help someone who aspires for the highest office
@JFKSalone JFK, pls don’t mislead people on a simple PPP transaction. According to the Finance Minister, Government is guaranteeing a loan taken by FB group who built the new airport to build a conference center and a hotel. If they fail to pay the loan, government pays. Is not state money
Yesterday, I had the honour of receiving a courtesy call from the ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defence Staff, who are in Freetown for their 44th Ordinary Meeting.
Our discussions focused on the evolving defence and security challenges confronting West Africa. I also used the opportunity to propose the establishment of a Regional Defence Academy - a centre of excellence that would bring together young officers from across ECOWAS to train, learn, and build bonds of trust. Such an institution would stand as a powerful symbol of regional integration and shared security responsibility.
On behalf of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, I extend our sincere gratitude to the Chiefs for their continued commitment to safeguarding democracy, peace and stability across our region.
