What a privilege to highlight our client Kerry Wachter’s story on the main stage at the @moms4liberty Summit today!
Kerry’s message was a powerful reminder to parents everywhere: Don’t back down. Stay in the fight for the long haul. Protecting our children and standing up for their rights takes courage, persistence, and a willingness to keep fighting.
We’re proud to stand alongside parents like Kerry who refuse to give up!

Parents have a powerful voice when it comes to their children’s education and knowing how to use that voice matters.
As Kim Hermann, President of Southeastern Legal Foundation, explains, parents don’t have to navigate these challenges alone. This weekend, Kim and SLF will be joining parents and advocates at the @moms4liberty Summit to talk about protecting parental rights and giving parents the tools they need to stand up for their children.
We’re looking forward to connecting, sharing resources and empowering parents to make their voices heard. 🇺🇸
SLF is proud to represent our client Kerry Wachter, a NY school board member who has been on the front lines of major education battles for free speech, parental rights, and girls’ safety and privacy in schools.
This weekend, Kerry will be at the @Moms4Liberty Summit to be a voice for school board members across America fighting for their parents’ and students’ rights and values.
We’re proud to stand alongside Kerry in the fight to save America’s schools.
SLF wants teachers to know their constitutional rights don’t end when they walk into a school building.
That’s why we’ve fought to defend educators’ First Amendment and Equal Protection rights in cases like Henderson v. Springfield Public Schools and Deemar v. Evanston/Skokie School District 65.
This World Teachers’ Day, we’re proud to stand with teachers and defend their constitutional rights.
FINALLY!
For 5 years, we have been telling people about the parents who came to us, terrified after the FBI came knocking at their door for simply speaking at a school board meeting and dare questioning masking policies.
Garland's DOJ knew it was wrong. They did it anyway.
Time to hold them accountable!
Parents speaking at school board meetings, questioning curriculum, and advocating for their children are not threats to be investigated by the federal government. They are citizens exercising the very freedoms the First Amendment was written to protect.
SLF stood with parents then, and we stand with them now. Government officials must be held accountable when they cross constitutional lines, and we will continue fighting to ensure this never happens again.
PARENTS, POWER & THE PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM
Parents are their children’s best advocates. But when something goes wrong at school, do you know where to turn?
Is the answer a school board meeting? An administrative complaint? The courtroom? Or is there another path that could be more effective?
Join Southeastern Legal Foundation’s “mom lawyers” for a big-picture conversation about navigating the public school system and understanding the different avenues available to parents.
Learn how to identify the right place to take your concern, how to effectively advocate within the system, and what options may be available when your concerns aren’t being addressed.
You know your child. Now know how to navigate the system.

SLF has fought to protect the values of Title IX in the courtroom because we believe that schools should not be allowed to risk the safety of young women to appease their own woke beliefs. Thank you @POTUS for permanently removing the Biden rewrite!
We are grateful to have had @SLFLiberty supporting us from the very beginning. In July 2024, our case secured the first nationwide injunction, a historic day that moms will always remember. That ruling safeguarded the children of Moms for Liberty members in schools nationwide. Today, the Biden rewrite has been permanently removed. Thank you, @POTUS. 🇺🇸
NY AG Letitia James wants to shut down any criticism of boys in girls' sports and spaces. DFI has joined the @thebuckeyeinst, the @ManhattanInst, the @Liberty_Ctr , and a local school board member to support @SLF_Liberty's fight for free speech.
Title IX was designed to protect students from sex-based discrimination and ensure equal opportunity in education.
SLF has fought in court to defend those protections and will continue standing up for students, parents, and schools when constitutional rights are at stake.
We cannot thank President Trump enough for his actions to finally rescind this dangerous and illegal re-definition of Title IX.
We’re grateful to @TheBuckeyeInst, @DFIPolicy, @ManhattanInst, @Liberty_Ctr, and NY school board member Kate DelliCarpini for standing with us in Wachter v. James and defending the First Amendment.
Americans should never have to fear government punishment for speaking their minds at a school board meeting. We’re thankful to have so many strong voices standing alongside us in this fight for free speech.
You Have the Right to Speak Freely.
The First Amendment protects your freedom of speech. Southeastern Legal Foundation stands at the forefront of this fight, ensuring that Americans can freely voice their perspectives without undue government overreach.
