@JoeWilUSA@JonRothstein He did about as well as he could for a school like Saint Mary’s. If good coaches were measured on National Championship appearances there’d only be a handful of good coaches. Bennet has his problems but I think he knows basketball very well.
@melutonin@TrellInterlude Notre Dame was allowed to join the ACC because they have a football team. They agreed to play 5 games against the ACC so their other sports could join. The loudest are always the clueless though
@TheUnderdogz7@TrellInterlude MWC in more recent years has been open to non football teams. With NIL and the conference changes they had to be more open about it
@SauceCastillo38@TrellInterlude Sad BYU was part of the WCC during their worst years. Like you said timing. If timing was right the WCC would be what the new pac12 is trying to be.
@SauceCastillo38@TrellInterlude Even then I think it was a good move for the Zags to stay, they became a larger powerhouse after and the WCC got significantly better and there have been many years the WCC has been a better top half team than the MWC
@SauceCastillo38@TrellInterlude Yeah I remember that. At that point Few had been basically the main money source for the WCC and he controlled negotiations with them. Got a better deal for Gonzaga and they stayed. I think at the time that was probably the only legit opportunity they had to move.
