Today we celebrate the International Day of Women in Diplomacy 👩🏻💼🌍🤝. It is an important opportunity to recognize the participation, influence, and achievements of women in the field of diplomacy—a day established by the 🇺🇳 United Nations in 2022 and celebrated annually on 24 June.
This day is not only about celebrating achievements, but also about calling for action to remove barriers, create equal opportunities, and ensure that women’s voices are fully represented in shaping a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable world.
In his opening address at the Economic Diplomacy Conference, taking place today & tomorrow, minister @TKajzer emphasized the crucial role of economic diplomacy.
“My vision is a proactive, pragmatic & credible diplomacy that puts Slovenia’s interests first. The priorities of @vladaRS are the country’s security, the well-being of its citizens, and tangible results for the economy, science, and society. The goal is clear: to align diplomacy even more closely with the needs of business and science, strengthen 🇸🇮’s international standing & enhance the competitiveness of the Slovenian economy.” – @TKajzer
Minister @TKajzer addressed participants at this year’s Slovenian Global Forum and emphasized the importance of active economic diplomacy focused on strategic priorities in strengthening internationalization and increasing the value added generated by the 🇸🇮 economy. He highlighted that:
“Slovenia may not be a large country in terms of size, but our entrepreneurs, researchers, innovators, and athletes prove every day that a country’s size is no limitation to global ambitions. On the contrary, the greatest achievements emerge where courage, knowledge, and perseverance are present. This is why economic diplomacy is one of our key priorities, as we seek to align diplomacy even more closely with the needs of the economy and deliver tangible results in foreign markets.”

The EU in Albania congratulates Klodian Braho as he takes office today as Head of SPAK and wishes him every success in this important role.
We also commend SPAK for its resilience in the face of political pressure and the determination and integrity shown by outgoing Chief Prosecutor Altin Dumani, under whose leadership SPAK achieved progress in the fight against high level corruption and reinforced public trust in justice.
Fighting corruption and impunity as well as upholding the rule of law is a joint responsibility of all key institutions and a key aspect of Albania’s path toward EU accession, supported by the overwhelming majority of Albanian citizens. We call on all institutions to fulfil their respective roles, live up to their responsibilities and cooperate fully in ensuring accountability for the benefit of all citizens.
We look forward to continuing to work with SPAK as we support Albania every step of the way towards the EU.
