What do you do, when you're 30 years old, getting more and more ill as time progresses, you can't get life insurance and you've picked a career where you help people, but fundamentally don't make a lot of money?
@DrNeilStone GPs make referrals to SLT that are inappropriate (in the sense that we can't manage them) or with insufficient info more often than you probably think.
@DrEilidhMaria I'm not sure this is a fair or even logical. How can anyone complain about anything? If you complain about your job, can I tell you not to because I have chronic illnesses? No, because all problems are relative.
I think we should all try to be more empathetic towards each other
Living with a chronic illness means every day is filled with calculations.
How much energy should I reserve for an event later?
If I tackle this task now, will I have enough left for anything else?
It’s a constant balancing act.
Choosing between doing the dishes or having the energy to cook dinner, between going out for a walk or simply getting through the workday.
Each decision feels like a trade-off, today’s actions against tomorrow’s needs.
@abundance202 @yasminleighw@Anniedroid_@RoshanaMN I think you're right, but it isn't unusual for gender disparity to be discussed in male dominated high power fields, but not when it's a female dominated (arguably?) lower power field. I think, as per thr article you shared, the reasons for gender disparity are multifaceted (1/2)
