Betore Rome, there was Carthage. Before Carthage, there was Tyre.
Israel is currently demolishing Tyre—a city more than 5,000 years old and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This. This isn’t taught in school. You won’t find it in text books. With numerous citations and sources, many of them the words of Israel’s own founders, it’s not too late to learn. It crucial that we do.
🚨This short film exposes the true story of Israel's creation, entirely through the words of its own founders
For decades, Israel’s lies have been carefully designed to demonize its victims. To ensure that no matter the crimes it commits, the children it slaughters, the world remains incapable of empathy for Palestinians, or at best, treats it with the same apathy that has allowed this to go on for as long as it has
On the 78th anniversary of its creation, it's time the world knew that Israel's past is not different from the brutal present the world is finally seeing
@MountainManRS I dare mainstream media to report on the land sales and publish footage like this. It’s really disturbing. How supportive would regular New Yorkers be if they saw this.
@ryangrim Oh, the shocked outrage! After the horrors we've seen perpetrated by the IDF in Gaza and the West Bank, it's no surprise there is systematic rape and torture in prisons. And yes, dogs can be trained to rape humans. https://t.co/UsmePoG7lF
Mayor Mamdani's veto of Intro 175-B defends free speech in a time of mounting oppression. We are proud to stand alongside him and call on the New York City Council to sustain this veto.
Intro 175-B did not pass w/ veto-proof majority b/c it will muzzle pro-Palestinian protests & criticism of Israel at NYC schools & other institutions. NYPD already has the authority to protect students & others during protests. All CMs should vote no to override the Mayor's veto.
Advocates are rallying outside City Hall urging Mayor Mamdani to veto legislation directing the NYPD to create a plan to implement a protest “buffer zone” outside of schools.
“This bill would squash movements and repress freedom of expression for students,” CM Cabàn says.
@StacyMillerrr@NickKristof The truth is the truth. It is well documented and is entrenched in the Israeli system. It doesn't matter how much you yell and stomp your feet.
If you're not quite sure if Palestinians are raped in Israel prisons, by the military and by settlers . . . what else do you need to know? When do you raise your voice in opposition?
This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: https://t.co/aMMHId49OO
@Yankeeduke@HilzFuld Kind of a silly bunch of questions. If you watch the full report there are sources and citations, reports by international rights organizations and interviews with victims.
@HilzFuld Do you really, really think the NYT would publish something without evidence knowing that you and others like you would evicerate them? Here's the full report https://t.co/5bGpbi8Dwo
