The devastating fire in my hometown caused widespread material and economic losses that exceed the ability of local people to cope on their own. I am proud of WorldRemit’s commitment to waive service fees from 4 April until 11 April on mobile money transfers to Somaliland.
Please support #Somaliland people's appeals in whichever way possible for you and keep an eye open for gofundme links we will share - funds will go directly to the affected. Watch Horn Heritage's new 3D virtual tours and article on the #HargeisaMarketFire https://t.co/Gs46n7dUXZ

Saddened to see the aftermath of the fire in Hargeisa with such destruction in the open market that is the economic heart of the city, affecting many small and family enterprises.
Your city will rise again and the UK will do what we can to support Somaliland’s rebuilding effort.
Heart-wrenching to hear about the devastating fire in #Hargeisa. I have been in touch with @BorisJohnson and @trussliz, and spoken with @vickyford this morning. They are going to be issuing an alert to the global response centre.
Terrible news about the devastating fire in Hargeisa, Somaliland - it has now been brought under control.
The UK is working with the authorities and international partners to seek to provide support. My thoughts are with all those affected.
Very sad to see damage caused by the fire in Hargeisa, Somaliland.
We are in close contact with the Somaliland authorities, our international partners and aid agencies operating in-country, and are considering what assistance is needed.

Thoughts with everyone impacted by the terrible fire in one of the busiest and largest markets in #Hargeisa last night.
Once the fire is eliminated, the international community should work together to support thousands of people & businesses that will have been impacted by loss.
We are deeply saddened to hear of the devastating fire at a #Hargeisa market that caused extensive devastation to businesses & properties..
We wish to convey our profound sympathy to all those affected & appeal to everyone to help with rescue and recovery efforts.
Deeply concerning to see the devastation caused in the capital of #Somaliland#Hargeisa- I urge @FCDOGovUK to support @somalilandmfa in recovery efforts given livelihoods have been destroyed. Thanks to @SDoughtyMP for liaising with authorities in Somaliland.
