Pleased to sign the bilateral Air Services Agreement with the Transport Minister of Belarus, Alexei Lyakhnovich. The agreement will pave the way for enhancing air connectivity between our two countries🇱🇰🇧🇾
I called on President Aleksandr Lukashenko of the Republic of Belarus 🇧🇾 during my official visit to Belarus.
Our discussion centered on constructive engagement to further strengthen the longstanding friendship between Sri Lanka and Belarus and to develop a roadmap for cooperation with a clear vision in mutually beneficial sectors, including trade, industry, agriculture, education and people-to-people ties.
Reaffirmed our shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations as we mark 25 years of diplomatic relations between our two countries.
🇧🇾🇱🇰 Fruitful talks in Minsk with between Belarusian FM Maxim Ryzhemkov & Sri Lanka’s FM Vijitha Herath (@HMVijithaHerath).
We see eye to eye on key global issues & agreed to unlock the full potential of trade, education & tourism. A bilateral Roadmap for mid‑term cooperation is in the works.
And a very welcome gift for Belarusians: free e‑visas to Sri Lanka 🧳
Had a constructive bilateral meeting with Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus 🇧🇾 during my official visit to Belarus.
We discussed strengthening Sri Lanka–Belarus relations across multiple sectors, including political, economic, educational, cultural and people-to-people cooperation. Agreed to enhance dialogue by convening regular political consultations and the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on Trade & Economic Cooperation later this year.
Sri Lanka and Belarus mark the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries, reflecting a longstanding friendship and shared commitment to deeper cooperation.
Honoured to commence my official visit to the Republic of Belarus 🇧🇾 by attending a solemn ceremony at Victory Square and laying a wreath in remembrance of the fallen soldiers.
The ceremony paid tribute to the sacrifice and resilience of the people of Belarus, and reflected our shared respect for peace, sovereignty, and friendship.
Erected in 1954, the Victory Monument in Victory Square stands as one of the most important national symbols of remembrance in Belarus.
