@lynchk16 I am pre medince by the way that’s why I have such an emphasis on debt. Otherwise I’d pick UT for sure, but their pre med does not have a distinct advantage to warrant the room and board fee, at least for first 2 years. Later, yes.
@lynchk16 SIGs use amici’s curie briefs to interact with the judiciary to sponsor their respective side. For financial reasons it may have to be UTD for first 2 years and then bachelors from UT. Cousin went to Northwestern but has too much debt now. #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat 3A
@GarrettRowe206 @lynchk16 I also did not think of the funding part of your response. Collin is a great place to start man don’t worry about some of the perception. I think you will end up in a great place in life if you are already this motivated in high school. All the best buddy.
@aarti_poduval @lynchk16 I agree with you Aarti that SIGs have the greatest impact. The argument could be made that this is all based on speculation and not fact, but I think it’s a safe bet to assume not everything is perfect or honest even with us people grouping together with our influence.
@lynchk16 Iron triangle describes the relationship between Congress, bureaucrats, and SIGs. The relationship between SIGs and Congress is notable as that is what can influence what policy will pass through the checks during the legislation process. #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat 3A
@Michael40976057 @lynchk16 I agree with this logic but I think that this is again the most efficient way to speed up change. This does not necessarily mean that SIG contribution is the most accurate in modeling public opinion. That is why I think it is ok for contribution to a party but not one candidate
@lynchk16 SIGs indirectly buy favorable legislation with campaign funding. I think it is ok for them to donate only to parties and let the candidate selection process be the fairest it can be by not trying to give money to only one candidate. #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat 3A
@gourii_naiir @lynchk16 I agree fully with you Gouri. The public officials who transition to SIGs are not even having any corrupt thoughts. The network is overbearing and can trap them into inescapable situations. It should be monitored, but privacy evasion will be used to justify against govt action.
@lynchk16 The revolving door refers to people who work for the government and then transition into working for an SIG. Effective lobbyists tend to be prior public officials. This process is warranted, but can lead to unintentional corruption. #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat 3A
@geograophy @lynchk16 I definitely agree George about public getting invaluable data from lobbyists. However, the key word you are missing is “efficient”. They get knowledge most efficiently from lobbyists but it would ultimately do our people and govt better if everything was slightly slowed down.
@lynchk16 Lobbyists use their platform to convince the government to enact on their proposed policies. I think lobbying is not well regulated because it can be secretive, making it seem like Congress is proposing all the desired changes. #lynchapgovmob#lynchapgovtwitterchat 3A
