Few months ago, CEO of systems limited sold his massive holding. This sent a very bad signal to investors and as a result of that selling by CEO, Stock Price of Systems limited fell more than 50%.
Following that, same company witnessed a sharp 50% recovery from that low of Rs 100’s and that was because there was nothing wrong at the company end or its fundamentals.
Similarly, in past week, insurance companies were major sellers that maybe because of June closing.
Purpose of the post is whatever might be the reason, that should be explicitly mentioned as this single step would bring a lot of transparency in PSX investing.
Like for example if a Director is selling, he should clearly define reason whether it is personal or fundamental or is there any other avenue from where he expects to earn more than by holding his own company shares!
Likewise if any institution is selling, he must also explicitly mentioned reason! Our FIPI LIPI data needs a overhaul and further dissection.
Even today, it is hard to crack liquidity and this is because our data points are surface level that don’t go too deep. Like FIPI LIPI could be broken further into individual share prices eg Mutual funds buying Cement shares is good but if same data tells you which particular company was bought by Mutual funds that would be a value addition definitely and would help in transparency.
If we improve transparency, participation in Stock Market will rise exponentially.
Alhamdulillah, the regulatory duty on smartphones has been abolished. A positive step towards making connectivity and technology more accessible and affordable for the people of Pakistan. #PTATax
Exclusive: U.S. intelligence agencies have warned the Trump administration that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is likely to take steps that will undermine President Trump’s effort to reach a lasting peace deal with Iran. https://t.co/LF1mowtp08
How can anyone still support this Israeli govt when psychopathic monsters like Ben Gvir are ministers in it, advocating genocide in Lebanon? Disgusting.
Proposed Tax Relief for the Salaried Class in the 2026–27 Budget is not Enough!
The amount of tax currently being charged on income slabs, especially below Rs. 1,500,000 per month, affects the ability of this most important segment of the society to meet their basic living needs, including payment of utility bills, education, healthcare, and the overall well-being of their children and families.
The salaried class is the most important segment of the economy. Let the Middle Class be the Engine of Growth for Pakistan! If they are able to spend, the Economic Cycle and Growth will start, with revenues coming back to the state as indirect taxes.
I strongly suggest the Govt and the Parliament to provide further relief to the salaried families.
I propose that there should be only three tax slabs for the salaried class
- Income from Rs. 100,000 per month to Rs. 500,000 per month: 5% tax
- Income from Rs. 500,000 per month to Rs. 1,500,000 per month: 10% tax
- Income above Rs. 1,500,000 per month: 20% tax
The charts attached show the proposed relief for the salaried class in the 2026–27 budget proposals.

On the whole, FY27 Budget deserves appreciation
Given the economic constraints, govt and finance team have presented a largely positive budget under direction of the PM
Relief for the salaried class, reduction of super tax, incentives for housing and construction, FBR reforms through digitisation, faceless assessments and improved audit systems are all welcome steps. Govt's cautious 4% growth target reflects fiscal prudence
That said, exporters and manufacturing will remain under pressure from high energy costs, fuel levies, high taxation and competitiveness gaps. Expanding the tax base substantially this year is critical so that greater incentives for productive sectors and export-led growth can be provided in the next budget

I strongly urge @StateBank_Pak MPC to hold the policy rate this time
With a US–Iran agreement appearing close, Brent prices are expected to soften further, while the recent reduction in petroleum prices by Pakistan will help ease inflation. This is the time to support growth, investment and exports—not tighten monetary conditions.
A rate hike now would dilute the relief provided in the budget and send the wrong signal to business and industry.

Good news for 🇵🇰🇵🇰 IT sector.
Withholding tax on international card transactions reduced to only 0.5% ✅✅
Only 0.25% income tax also extended for 3 more years
June is dividend season for mutual funds. Everyone waits for the payout. Almost nobody does the math.
Dividend from a low risk mutual fund = 25% tax
Book the same profit as capital gain = 15% tax
100k invested, 10k profit:
Dividend → 7,500 in hand
Book profit → 8,500 in hand
Same fund. Same profit. 1,000 rupees difference.
Bonus: capital gains can be adjusted against losses. Sitting on a 10k loss elsewhere? Your tax becomes zero. Dividends give you no such option.
We built Capital Gain Tax tracking into Zar by Sarmaaya so you can see this and plan your exits smartly → https://t.co/BlKLgPokke
I’m numb! As a doctor, I know what it takes to become a resident, the sleepless nights, brutal hours, depression, uncertainty, and relentless sacrifice. Dr Mahnoor endured all of that for what? To have it taken away by a coward and a society that keeps failing its women!
Ban the sale of acid openly. Stop selling it to men specifically. Sell this stuff in a regulated way. How many more women have to get their lives ruined before some steps are taken to stop these things from happening??
Fact Check: 🚨🚨
The @DailyMail has falsely claimed that the victim in the case was a French tourist who was assaulted in front of her three children in Pakistan.
The facts are different: the victim was a Pakistani citizen, not a French tourist. This misleading narrative appears to be part of a recurring pattern in which incidents from Pakistan are framed in a way that fuels negative perceptions, particularly in discussions about sexual violence.
Importantly, the crime occurred in Pakistan, and the Pakistani justice system prosecuted the case. The accused were tried by a Pakistani court and were sentenced to death.
Accurate reporting matters. Misrepresenting the victim’s identity and the facts of the case only serves to spread misinformation and distort public understanding of what actually happened.
Portraying a Pakistani woman as a French tourist is an act of journalistic dishonesty and a serious distortion of the facts. Such misrepresentation undermines public trust, spreads misinformation, and distracts from the actual circumstances of the case.
