Labour politicians are working out how to tax you more. My team is working out how you can keep more of your own money.
@griffitha@ClaireCoutinho and Richard Fuller are my new Economic Unit. Their job is to find the responsible tax cuts and reforms that let businesses grow, and make sure you feel it in your wages, weekly shop, bills and the cost of your home.
We will abolish stamp duty on your home, we will end the Family Farm Tax and Family Business Tax. And we will go further, with responsible plans so that families can keep more of what they earn.
@JoshFG Fortunately we don’t need Boybands, Guitar players or DJs looking after the defence of this country. Labour seems to think everything is a joke.
Britain will go bankrupt under Andy Burnham, Kemi Badenoch has warned.
The Conservative Party leader said the Prime Minister risked running out of money by making too many promises and being unable to say no to government departments⤵️

@EstherMcVey1 And he does have some farms in his Constituency! Shows how little intrest he shows in Makerfield. Interestingly he says he spends more time in the Northern Quarter in Manchester! Miles away from Makerfield!
Andy Burnham’s reply when asked a question about farming at the Dispatch Box this week was shocking.
‘I'm probably not renowned for spending much time on farms. I'm more likely to be found in the northern quarter of Manchester’
I couldn’t believe the Prime Minister of a country - especially one wanting growth in every postcode - would know so little about farming particularly given the battering the farming sector has taken over the last few years what with Labour’s family farm tax, the rise in energy prices and fuel and fertiliser costs, the impact the bad weather has had, and now with the bluetongue outbreak and the lack of vaccines.
His staggering answer confirmed what we already knew. Labour knows nothing about farming & rural life & cares very little about it too - if it did - it would never have brought in the family farm tax.
An idiot with no brains responds. So let me explain in simple terms.
The move to cap school uniform costs is not the issue. That’s a matter for the Education Secretary. The issue is that the Chancellor has much bigger fish to fry.
‘Women do not need patronising theories to explain their success. That is the point.’
The Conservatives are aware it is 2026.
Labour seems to think it’s 1976.
Not everything has to be looked at through the lens of discrimination.
Conservatives managed to choose our first woman leader 51 years ago. Meanwhile Labour are celebrating Andy Burnham as their first female Prime Minister.
Claire has been promoted because she is excellent and Conservatives believe in meritocracy.
If Harriet is worried about discrimination, there is plenty in her own party to keep her busy.
Boris Johnson promoted me to the Treasury while I was on maternity leave in 2020. Nobody did a podcast episode on it because we didn’t think it was remarkable. He just knew I could do the job.
Women do not need patronising theories to explain their success. That is the point.
Tory source messages: “On the opening day of Reform’s conference, Kemi Badenoch has the splash on the Mail and Telegraph, in the week Reform slipped behind the Tories in the polls for the first time in a year.”
