Stood in solidarity with medical interns at GMC Anantnag in their legitimate protest demanding a stipend raise. Shameful that the government has money to raise perks & salaries of Ministers plus MLAs & to buy Defender cars worth 2 crores but not a dime for these hard working interns.
Excuses wont do. Raise their stipends already.
#Watch | Since Medical interns across Kashmir are on a strike, demanding hike in their monthly stipend, the workload on Postgraduate doctors at GMC Srinagar has increased significantly.
With interns unavailable for their routine duties, PG doctors are under immense pressure to manage the growing patient load.
In some departments, doctors are reportedly attending to nearly 100 patients within a 24hour period.
The increased workload has added to the stress on PG doctors and affected patient care, with patients facing longer waiting times for consultations, investigations and treatment
Increasing the intern stipend to 30,000 is vital to help young doctors manage basic living costs. We urge the Chief Minister to approve this fair pay hike without any further delay. @OmarAbdullah@sakinaitoo#Hikejkinternstipend
Its now or never !
Let them see what an intern does in hospitals .
Its just a political narrative that interns are learners under supervision rather they are charged with unbearable responsibilities .

We have waited,submitted representations & approached the authorities.If our legitimate demands continue to be ignored,we will take to the streets.

J&K interns are working the same hours, carrying the same responsibilities, and serving the same patients — yet we continue to receive one of the lowest stipends in the country.
Our voice must be heard. @OmarAbdullah@sakinaitoo@officeoflgjandk
The states of bihar and UP were only states behind JK. Now even they have enhanced intern doctors stipend from 12k to 25k. But our admin has still not woken up from slumber. Intern doctors still remain underpaid! Is the admin waiting for them to come on streets?
@sakinaitoo
We are not asking for a favour we are demanding what is fair.
Medical students in J&K work long hours, serve patients, and carry immense responsibility. It’s time the J&K Government stops ignoring the stipend issue and gives us a fair hike. @OmarAbdullah@sakinaitoo@CM_JnK
