Peter Obi registered Gabriella Investment Limited, yes, in the British Virgin Islands. An action neither illegal, nor unprecedented. In fact, it's laughably common. Offshore entities are not the exclusive playgrounds of crooks and criminals. They're tools, legal, strategic instruments used by companies and individuals across the globe. Apple. Google. The Crown Prince of Denmark. Hell, even your favorite pastors, yes, the ones who promise you miracle wealth while filing sermons through shell corporations.

But you, Okoro... you wouldn’t know that. Because to you, "offshore" is a synonym for "sinister." A dangerous delusion. You lack the curiosity to explore the nuance and the humility to ask questions. You saw "British Virgin Islands" and your mind leapt, like a moth to a kerosene lamp straight into allegations of theft and concealment. Yet, not once did you pause to ask: Was any public money missing? Was there a breach of law? Conflict of interest? Misappropriation?

No. None. Zero. No money stolen. No state funds diverted. No contract inflated. Just a man, Peter Obi, placing personal assets in a secure, internationally compliant trust structure, named after his daughter. A trust. It’s called intergenerational estate planning. Legacy preservation. A concept your political heroes who loot now and pray for amnesia later wouldn’t comprehend.

You see, while others were using shell companies to funnel stolen billions into yachts, Swiss chalets, and champagne-fueled orgies in Marbella, Obi used his offshore account to preserve the modest earnings of a pre-governorship businessman. And you dare call that scandal?

You don’t understand international finance. You don’t understand governance. And, most embarrassingly, you don’t understand Peter Obi.

You were never meant to recognize a statesman in a nation addicted to strongmen. You mistake quiet competence for concealment. Simplicity for weakness. And legality for trickery. That’s what happens when your heroes are loud, lavish, and lawless.

So here’s my advice, Okoro: The next time you decide to wade into matters of such complexity, wear intellectual floaters. Or better yet, stay ashore. Because deep waters require more than your WhatsApp group credentials.

As for Peter Obi, until your messiahs can match his footprint in governance, in ethics, in vision, please, be silent. Let the men who build legacies speak, while those who peddle ignorance retreat to their corners.
