I made a composite golf course from my favorite golf holes I have played in the USA.
My criteria:
• the holes had to correlate in the order it appeared on it’s original course
• Couldn’t repeat any courses
• Had to be a par above 70 in this case 71
——
Hole #1: Sand Hills (Par 5)
Hole #2: Oakmont CC (Par 4)
Hole #3: NGLA (Par 4)
Hole #4: Fishers Island (Par 4) (pic 1)
Hole #5: Merion (Par 4)
Hole #6: Riviera CC (Par 3)
Hole #7: San Fran GC (Par 3)
Hole #8: Pebble Beach (Par 4)
Hole #9: 21 Golf Club (Par 5)
Hole #10: Shoreacres (Par 5)
Hole #11: The Creek (Par 3)
Hole #12: Belleair (Par 5) (Pic 3)
Hole #13: Augusta National (Par 5)
Hole #14: Monterey Peninsula (Par 3)
Hole #15: Friars Head (Par 4)
Hole #16: Cypress Point (Par 3) (Pic 2)
Hole #17: Seminole (Par 3)
Hole #18: Pine Valley (Par 4) (Pic 4)
This was a bit more difficult than I had originally assumed it would be - so many great courses left off this list and so many great holes.
100 years ago in 1926, Tommy Armour listed his favorite 12 golf courses in the United States as well as discussing some of his criteria.
1. Oakmont*
2. Pine Valley
3. National Golf Links of America
4. Lido
5. Whitfield Estates* current day Sarabay CC in Sarasota
6. Merion
7. Hollywood
8. Olympia Fields
9. North Shore
10. Inwood
11. Chicago Golf Club
12. Brae Burn
* Tommy Armour won a the US Open at Oakmont and was the head professional at Whitfield Estates now Sarabay CC.

@DavidDTSS@Reese10Angel Let’s be realistic- who is taking Reece over a healthy Napheesa Collier? Or Breanna Stewart? Then there is Gabby Williams who doesn’t get enough respect.
Angel improved offensively but she needs a massive jump to even be mentioned after Aja
I considered it…but OMG lots of moving parts. I imagine it would be quite a bit different.
How do you not include a hole from the Old Course, Royal Dornoch (maybe Foxy), Cruden Bay’s Bath Tub, Muirfield, North Berwick’s original Redan, Prestwick’s Alps etc…
Maybe I will do a Scottish 18 because they would be INSANE!!!
@JStewGolf Its current day Sarabay CC in Sarasota, FL. Bobby Jones was there in 1926 selling real estate and it was the first leg of the Match of the Century which pitted Bobby Jones against Walter Hagen for 72 holes of matchplay.
