Working on something. What would you label as a Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cannabis name? U S. names of only please!
For instance, I would label Tier 1 the MSOs. $GTBIF $CURLF $TCNNF $AYRWF $VRNOF
Once I have the buckets aggregated I can output what I'm envisioning.
The month of June and what is now turning out to be July has been painfully annoying for cannabis.
Between the back and forth of policy and overnight trading, these are the consequences?

@DHforHOF It's a complete sh*t show. For a market that could have been amazing and generated plenty of revenue for the state, they really dropped the ball badly
It's interesting to see the contrast between NJ and NY cannabis progression.
Both launched in 2021.
NJ:
- 2023 = ~$800M in sales
- 2024 = est. ~$1B in sales
NY:
- 2023 = ~$150M in sales
- 2024 = ~$200M in sales
Differences are incredible given the states are neighbors. $MSOS
Out of curiosity, how many of you have increased exposure to cannabis stocks as a % of the overall portfolio since the start of the year?

ππ½The quick "Who I Am" tweet ππΌ
I started my career on Wall Street as an Investment Banker for Merrill Lynch covering consumer/retail/cannabis. Since then, I've worked at various tech startups helping them strategically scale and grow their product/service offerings in the US.
I share my portfolio, thoughts, and equity ideas via @cedargrovecm; a multi-strategy prop fund specializing in L/S, M&A Arb, and event-driven ideas.
Additionally, I write a weekly stock/research compilation from various global investors via @weeklysnacks. This weekly newsletter shares new ideas with investors on the hunt for the next potential multi-bagger and research to better reinforce investors' understandings of various industries.
Because cannabis is such a nascent and underserved industry for coverage, I also leverage my past street experience and share my thoughts on the industry exclusively for those who only want cannabis research. My thoughts/findings can be found via @sowresearch.
Lastly, I am a regular person with real-world experiences and I do share my personal financial journey via my personal newsletter in my bio. It mainly outlines the learnings from mistakes and the thought process behind certain decisions I've made in an effort to help anyone going through the same issues.
All of these newsletters serve a purpose and if you're interested in learning more, just click on the link in my bio to visit them directly.
The other week, I shared my thoughts on how investors should treat the cannabis industry, which basically was to approach it with a VC mindset.
One of the problems with this is that the time factor may not benefit you.

Sharing my first thought piece on the cannabis industry. It's been a tough road for anyone who's invested long in $MSOS or other names over the last few years.
Things seem to have stabilized (price-wise) but I think many are still investing the wrong way

Going to be releasing my first set of notes tomorrow on the cannabis industry.
It's not company coverage but rather how I'm investing in this under appreciated and frankly, severely undervalued asset class.
One of many posts to come!
