One of the most frequently asked questions we get is: "How do I create plus signs to collapse rows and columns?" These plus signs are called Groupings. Creating them manually is quite simple.
Select the rows or columns you want to collapse under the plus sign and press SHIFT+ALT+Right (or the Group button on the Data tab). To undo grouping, select the rows or columns and press SHIFT+ALT+Left. If you have multi-level grouping, repeat the process several times for all the desired row/column groups. If all else fails, you can quickly clear all groupings using the "Remove Outline" button on the Data tab.
