CAUGHT IN THE ACT.

Great police work by St. Paul Police Federation members!

Working together, patrol officers and the Real Time Information Center used drone technology to catch three suspects stealing copper wire from streetlights.

When one suspect fled, the drone tracked his movements, guiding officers to the arrest. A firearm was also recovered.

Three arrests. A firearm off the streets. Another example of technology helping good cops do their jobs.

SECONDS FROM TRAGEDY!

A New York State Trooper and a hero in the community dived into freezing water to save a trapped man. Incredible bravery.

THIS IS NOT A HOLLYWOOD MOVIE, AND THIS IS NOT A STUNTMAN.

In Oklahoma County, a suspected copper thief ignored a deputy's commands and dove headfirst through a CLOSED glass window to escape arrest.

No script. No second take. Just another example of the crazy situations law enforcement officers face every day.

A woman was fighting for her life in the Mississippi River. Strangers and St. Paul Police officers refused to let her face it alone.

On April 22, courageous community members and Federation members worked side-by-side in a remarkable rescue.

The Federation is proud of our officers who responded and grateful for the civilians whose quick thinking, courage, and selfless actions helped save a life.

Congratulations to everyone honored for their heroism and teamwork.

Mayor Katie's gun violence plan is long on programs and short on the one thing Seattle needs most: accountability.

Prevention matters. So do serious consequences for violent offenders.

Seattle already has a powerful tool to curb violence - its police officers. Give them the staffing, support, and freedom to do the job.

Let cops be cops.

THE MOST SATISFYING VIDEO YOU'LL WATCH ALL DAY!

Ontario police say the motorcyclist fled a crash, ignored an officer telling him he was under arrest, and later appeared to taunt police from his bike.

Bad move.

One more juicy detail: the bike had an unauthorized plate reading "RUN THIS."

Justice held today.

Ronald Lindsey Reed, convicted in the murder of St. Paul Police Officer James Sackett, was denied parole and will remain behind bars.

The victim's family, law enforcement, and the public were heard - and the board made the right decision.

Officer Sackett's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

25 years later, we remember.

Today, the Federation honors the victims of September 11, 2001, and the first responders who ran toward danger and gave their lives in service to others.

Their courage and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Officer James Sackett was murdered in the line of duty. Now his killer could be paroled.

The Minnesota Parole Board will decide tomorrow 9/11/26 from 11:15 AM - 4:40 PM CST whether Ronald Reed, inmate #219531, should be released.

***Watch the parole board's decision live on YouTube tomorrow: https://t.co/8cvRF09d61
The more viewers, the more likely the board will do the right thing and keep Reed incarcerated.

We remember Officer Sackett. We stand with his family, fellow officers, and every law enforcement family that knows the cost of sacrifice.

SPPD DRONE LEADS OFFICERS TO CHILD TRAPPED IN A POND - FEDERATION MEMBERS MAKE THE RESCUE

When a child was spotted struggling in a pond, Saint Paul Police Federation members used a docked drone to reach the scene before responding officers, locate the child, and guide fellow officers directly to him.

Federation members pulled the child safely from the water.

Smart technology. Trained officers - protecting Saint Paul.

🔥 THIS IS WHAT HEROISM LOOKS LIKE.

Chattanooga Police Officer Eli Rogers rammed through the door of a burning apartment, carried a 4-year-old girl to safety, and helped rescue her mother and another child - with no injuries reported.

For those who still talk about defunding police, this is the reality: when lives are on the line, officers like Eli Rogers run toward the danger.

UCOPS stands with the men and women who put themselves at risk to protect others.

**Privacy concerns deserve a real conversation - not political fearmongering.**

Federation President Mark Ross makes a simple point: before labeling Flock a “surveillance state,” look at how much personal data people already hand over to tech companies every day.

St. Paul Police use Flock to investigate crimes—not monitor law-abiding residents.

Thirty-two years ago today, St. Paul lost Officer Ron Ryan Jr., Officer Tim Jones and K9 Laser in one of the darkest days in our department’s history.

Their courage, sacrifice and service will never be forgotten.

We honor them today - and always.

**Before politicians take away a crime-fighting tool, they should understand how it’s actually being used.**

After Council President Rebecca Noecker posted a Facebook video calling for an end to St. Paul’s use of Flock cameras, Federation President Mark Ross laid out the facts: officers use them in active criminal investigations, looking for specific suspects, specific vehicles and specific information.

There are already laws, policies and accountability measures governing how that data is used.

Public safety decisions should be based on facts, not fear.

Good police work requires good tools and strong safeguards.

Federation President Mark Ross explains how St. Paul officers use Flock technology to help identify suspects in serious crimes, including a Lowertown homicide where a license plate helped police quickly track down the suspect.

The goal isn’t mass surveillance. It’s giving officers another tool to solve crimes, protect the public, and hold dangerous offenders accountable - under clear policies and strict consequences for misuse. That’s a reasonable public safety approach.

St. Paul police are doing their job. The problem is what happens after the arrest.

As Gnome owner Brian Ingram put it: officers show up, investigate, catch the people responsible - and then the system puts them right back on the street.

Our Federation members will continue showing up for St. Paul. Public safety requires the rest of the system to do its job, too.

[St. Paul Police Federation @SPPDFederation]

St. Paul’s proposed police budget comes at a time when our officers are already being asked to do more with less.

Federation President Mark Ross explains what’s at stake - and why continued cuts to public safety are not sustainable.

Officer James T. Sackett Sr. answered the call on May 22, 1970. It was a planned ambush, and he made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the people of St. Paul.

Now, Ronald Reed—the man convicted of murdering Officer Sackett—is asking for release.

The Minnesota Supervised Release Board has the opportunity to ensure justice endures. We urge them to honor Officer Sackett's sacrifice and keep Ronald Reed behind bars.

We will never stop standing for fallen officers and their families. @sppdmn @SPPDFederation @JoeGamaldi @GLFOP

This past Friday, the St. Paul Police Federation was honored to join the Wounded Warrior Project Warrior Ride through St. Paul.

Before the ride, Federation President Mark Ross presented a $500 donation to WWP on behalf of our membership. Afterward, the Federation welcomed the warriors for lunch.

Spending time with these remarkable men and women was both humbling and inspiring. Their sacrifices can never be repaid, but we are proud to stand with them and give back in any way we can.
