Agriculture remains a key priority in driving Namibia towards food self-sufficiency by 2030. With a goal to reduce food imports by 80%, the country is making steady progress through increased local production and exports worth N$2 billion. Growth in vegetable market share, fruit production, and maize output shows that Namibia is gradually strengthening its ability to feed itself and build a more resilient agricultural sector.
The livestock sector alone sustains about 70% of the population, while farming initiatives and government support are boosting productivity and job creation. From crop production to livestock farming, agriculture is not just about food, it is about empowering communities and securing a sustainable future for all.
