The most powerful woman in crypto grew up without electricity.
Yi He was born in a village in Sichuan that had no electricity and no running water. Her father died when she was nine. At sixteen she was selling drinks for a living. Later she hosted a travel show on Chinese television. She started learning English in her thirties.
In 2014, working in marketing at an exchange, she hired a little known engineer named Changpeng Zhao. Three years later, the two of them founded Binance.
In December 2025 she was named co-CEO. In 2026 Fortune placed her on its Most Powerful Women in Business list the first crypto-native executive ever to make it.
Asked about where she came from, her answer was short:
Of course I come from a poor background. But I am successful. Why can't you do the same?
There is no secret here. Just someone who never asked her circumstances for permission.

Two years ago, we received our licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and made a commitment: to build in Singapore, for Singapore.
Since then, we’ve put that commitment into action. We’ve deepened our roots here, grown our team and built a community of clients and partners who share our belief in the future of digital assets.
Those relationships have shaped our approach and deepened our understanding of what clients expect from a trusted, locally regulated platform.
There is still much more to do. As the industry evolves, our focus remains the same.
To our clients, partners and everyone who has been part of our journey, thank you for growing with us. We look forward to building the next chapter together.

Travis Kalanick (@travisk) is one of the world’s best fundraisers
$18B+ raised across
› Uber (2009–17): ~$15B w/ @emilmichael (~$68B peak private val)
› CloudKitchens (2018–21): $1.25B+ ($15B val)
› Atoms (2026): $1.7B, led by a16z
Here's TK’s 8-Step Fundraising Framework:
1. Build a story that feels proven
Explain exactly how the business works, why it wins, and use numbers to support the story. Travis calls this QED.
2. Adjust the pitch to the market
In normal markets, go deep on the numbers. In a supercycle, keep it shorter and focus more on the theory of where the market is going.
3. Talk to multiple investors at once
Never rely on one bidder. At peak Uber, Travis ran multiple investor meetings in parallel.
4. Don’t get attached to a valuation
Start at a price you know investors will accept. Let competition reveal what the company is actually worth.
5. Get investors to show their demand
Ask each investor how much they would invest at different valuations.
6. Build a demand curve
Combine everyone's bids. As the valuation rises, investor demand falls. Find the highest valuation where you can still fill the entire round.
7. Tell investors who missed the cutoff
Give them another chance to increase their bid if they want into the round.
8. Repeat until the market clears
Rebuild the demand curve as investors rebid, push the valuation until supply & demand meet, then close.
How @basepowerco turns thousands of homes into a virtual power plant:
"Instead of having one giant power plant, you have thousands of homes and nodes that connect together."
"They network together. They add up to a utility."
"Power is often very cheap at night. Base charges up all their batteries cheaply then."
"When the grid is slammed, like a very hot summer afternoon in Texas, prices spike."
"It's basically buying low and selling high, at scale, thousands of times a day across thousands of homes."

I don’t think crypto is becoming more like TradFi. It’s the other way around.
TradFi assets are moving onto crypto-native market structures. Perps are just one example.
The bigger shift will go beyond tokenization. 24/7 markets, cross-asset collateral and unified capital are becoming the new standard across asset classes.

Over the past few months, the questions we’ve heard from institutional clients have increasingly focused on collateral efficiency, cross-asset risk, liquidity, and how tokenized equities can fit into existing portfolio strategies.
So our institutional team has put our thinking into this rToken playbook for cross-asset capital management.
For institutions exploring how crypto and tokenized equities can work together within one capital framework, this is for you 👇
