The major challenge that we faced at the academy was getting adjusted to the academy's rigorous training schedule, which involves both indoor and outdoor activities... The academy has very good instructors and an excellent training schedule, and it is planned in such a way that we are gradually trained to improve in all these aspects and also learn all of these..."

Abusing a woman colleague in an official meeting is shameful and unacceptable. No designation gives anyone the right to humiliate a colleague.

Kumar Rajeev Ranjan (IAS), Secy, Labour & Employment Dept, Govt of Jammu & Kashmir, reportedly abused his woman colleague, Beenish Wani (JKAS), Assistant Director, Employment, during an official virtual meeting.

Bureaucrats India condemns such conduct.

The force has been steadily transforming. Response times have been more than halved, conviction rates have more than doubled, and technology is changing how people reach the police.

How did this change happen, and what comes next?

Join Alok Kumar, IPS, DGP, Goa, in an exclusive conversation with Dr Navneet Anand, Editor, Bureaucrats India.

Helmet on, get a sapling. Helmet off, meet the gorilla!

Thoothukudi Traffic Police have come up with a different way to promote helmet use.

Riders wearing helmets were appreciated with saplings, while those riding without helmets were given a light tap by a person dressed as a gorilla to highlight the risks of unsafe riding.

The message was that a helmet is not just to avoid a fine. It can save your life.

Delhi Police bans drones ahead of BRICS Summit

The Delhi Police has imposed a temporary ban on the operation of drones and other small aerial platforms across the national capital from September 10 to 14, ahead of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit scheduled for September 12-13 at Bharat Mandapam.

The order has been issued by Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, as part of heightened security arrangements for the summit. Delhi Police had already directed neighbouring states to intensify border checks and maintain close surveillance of drones and other flying objects.

The wider security operation includes anti-drone systems, extensive surveillance and the deployment of thousands of security personnel as Delhi prepares to host several visiting heads of government, including leaders from China, Russia and Iran.
